I am so frustrated!! I have been on Lyrica for a month. My Dr has increased my dose. I was on 300mg a day. I couldn't take that much as I was dizzy, couldn't concentrate, and exhausted. So I went down to 200 mg per day, one dose in the a.m., and one in the p.m. I feel terrible, and have for most of the month. I have not seem any improvement. I think that if I could tolerate the higher doses of Lyrica I would see some pain relief. When I was taking 300mg per day, I did have SOME relief, but as I said earlier I can't tolerate the higher doses. So I have called in to the Dr. she is not in today, but the nurse said that she saw in the notes that the Dr will probably prescribe an analgesic for pain--what is an analgesic? I currently take enough Tylenol, Advil, and Aleve to kill a horse! So I hope that is not what they are going to suggest. I told the nurse that I am taking all of the tylenol ect. I am frustrated about feeling so crappy, trying to take care of 4 kids. On top of all this we are leaving for vacation on Thursday. I don't even want to go, at least at home you have your own bed, and can rest in the recliner ect. Sorry this is so long, but I am really frustrated, and I think a little depressed about all of this. What to do?

No wonder you may be a little depressed....geeez....who wouldn't be? I hope you hear from you doctor soon, and an analgesic is in the same category as tylenol, advil & aleve. But, if the doctor prescribed a prescription strength analgesic hopefully you'd be able to decrease your dosage of the others.

Do you take your pillow with you when you go on vacation? That seems to help my mom a little...even though it comes no where close to being the same as sleeping in your own bed.

I hope you begin to get some relief very soon!!! Hugs,

I always take my best pillow and also I take along either ice paks (ice is what I use) or take your heating pad to use when you are able to. These things may help you while away on Vacation. I just got back from the first one and will go again in a couple of weeks. So I hope this helps you alittle to enjoy your vacation.

{{Soft & Gentle Hugs}} to you my friend. I am also sending extra for your vacation.

I was taking 150 mgs of Lyrica in the morning and at night in addition to 10 mgs of Lexapro, and 30 mgs of Temazepam at night to help me sleep. 150 mgs of Lyrica puts me into a deep "fog", so I stopped taking the morning dose when I started a part-time job last week. Instead, I started taking the 15 mgs of Mobic my Rheumatologist prescribed last month. I still take the 150 of Lyrica at dinner time along with all of the other meds listed above. This combination has worked great for me so far - I'm alert during the day. (I have a slightly high rheumatoid factor, so they are keeping an eye on that.) Maybe you could try Mobic instead of taking the Advil, etc. Hope you feel better soon.
