I have been noticing I am losing a lot more hair in the last month or 2 and wondering if anyone else is experiencing this as well.

I was told by a hairdresser a couple years ago that they go hand in hand Blink Sad Angry

Love,
Casty

I've always, except while I was preganant, had lots of hair loss. I've always had FM too though. Stress, meds and hormone changes will also cause hair loss.

This is worrying my daughter now too because her dad is balding and now I am too...she thinks that means it's inevitable that she will experience it too and not matter what I say to her she won't be appeased lol

The 2 meds that are new that I started before noticing the extra hair loss is Effexor ER and Trazadone. I started Lyrica last Monday but I noticed the hair loss before I started that.

Casty

Question for you. Is it in clumps or just extra hair here and there?

here and there

The only place it's obvious I'm thinning is the front center.

But I was born with TONS of hair(Thank you Lord!) so it may take awhile to notice much

Casty

I had experienced this big time for the longest time. Of course I found out I had an untreated thyroid problem for many, many years. Mine seemed to get alot better with the thyroid meds but I still will lose it here and there.

Thank you guys.

I do have a thyroid condition that has been treated for many years.

I really don't know if it's the effexor, I guess if I end up going off of and it stops I'll know.

I appreciate all of your input.

Love,
Casty

Hi Laura Smile

I've been battling hair loss for a couple of years now. I always thought it was my migraine medicine, but now I'm fairly convinced that stess is the culprit. My thyroid was just tested and it's normal. I think menopause has a lot to do with it also. I haven't shed like this since after my daughter was born and all the pregnancy hormones went away.

I'm using Nioxin shampoo, I don't know if it helps, but it sure smells good LOL....minty fresh Smile

I'm having a whole lot more hair loss, started out withso thick couldn't get comb or brush thru, now thinking about going to wig, but not sure if FMS, Lupus, thyroid, or diabetes, Could be any one or all.

But since quitpeekin's stopped when off effexor I'd say that just might be a good answer to your ?
