Yes, I am still not believing I actually have FM, I need a Rheumatologist to do the Tender Point exam on me to prove it. I had my Chiro do it on me and he only found 6 tender points. If you may or may not recall, I have a HOST of spinal problems which I truly believe are my problem. So, I guess the truth "shall set me free" tomorrow sometime. Meaning, I will know whether I have FM along with osteoarthritis/Deg Disk Disease, or whatever they're calling it this year. I am 38 years old. I've been through the RINGER in the last 6 months with testing for MS, then peripheral neuropathy (don't have either) and now Fibromyalgia. All along, telling them and insisting it's my spine causing all these problems. All 3 MRI's come back with bulges and herniations in all 3 sections of my spine although brain MRI came out normal/ Anyhoo, what should I look for ask this Dr. tomorrow? I am on Amitriptyline 25 mg at night to sleep that's it. I am still draggedout tired EVERY day and I hurt all over the place in my neck and back and knees.

I have not been diagnosed with anything else other than the osteoarthritis and hypoglycemia (not diabetes), but my BS has a tendency to drop after I eat sometimes, but it never gets high. Weird, I know. I will NOT go on Lyrica, for fear of gainig weight, I gained 10 darn lbs. on that Neurotonin and I am having a very hard time getting it off. I was doing so well with losing weight, now I've ballooned back up to 200 at 5'8" tall.

I'm hoping this Dr. will tell me if I have FM or not first off, then agree to treat me for my osteoarthritis since I only have my chiro doing that for now and from what I understand for some things regarding my neck, I should stay away from the chiro for that. SO, if I have both, she can treat me for both instead of running to 2 different Dr.'s for these things.

ANyhoo, just wanting to know what your experiences have been with Rheumy's and what to ask and what to know.

Thanks everyone!

Seems that I read somewhere that the tender points are not necessarily an accurate test. I have them everywhere, not just the usual ones that the doctors test. My upper arms are really bad. My friend gently squeezed my arm the other day and I almost went through the roof!

Has anyone else read the same info that I have? Or did I hallucinate it?
