I just wanted to touch on something said in another thread. Janilee said she keeps a list to give to her doctor. I am not precise on the wording. I would like to stress how important this is. My dad was very sick for a long time and my sisters and my mom would have to take him into the emergency room literally every week. Every week he would see a different doctor. It became very necessary to list all the illnesses and medicines he took as well as vitamins so that they could present his case to the doctor on call that night. In his case some antibiotics would not work for him, he would react to others, or they would interact with his meds ect. It is very helpful when going to the urgent/ emergency care to have a list of medicines and vitamins you are currently on, as well as previous and current diseases and illnesses, previous surgeries ect. It really literally saved my dad's life a number of times. *side note, my sisters and mother are my heros for taking such good care of my dad, while I lived so far from him. Dad passed away in January and I still miss him. |
