The last couple of days my upper stomach has been so hard and has caused a lot of gas. I believe it is from the medicine Chantix that I am taking to stop smoking. It hurts so bad. I am double over. I don't know what to do so I am going to try and go to sleep for a while. I need to take the chantix, I have to stop smoking. My mother died at the age of 52 to lung cancer. That should be enough reason to get me to stop. I did stop for many years until this illness started taking over my life. I am so mad that after 10 years of not smoking I went back. I need to try and go to sleep now the pain is unbearable. It is right under my chest.

Thanks for listening!

Barbara

I would definitely mention this to your doctor, it could become a dangerous side effect to the new meds or it could be a conflict between meds. Hope you get relief soon.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

I took that too to stop which it worked a year and a half a go...you might be having reflux from it...I had that...reflux feel different with different things...it sometime feels like just pain in that area not just heart burn...I have the pain like that because of meds and if I eat spicey food I have the heart burn...so I take Zantac 150mg every 12 hours and it help...also I have asthma because I smoked and if I don't take my zantac for my stomach I will get reflux that causes bronchitus.

Well, I called the doctor and it was confirmed that the bloating and the gas is being cause by the chantix. She said to cut down to 1/2 in the morning and 1 at night time. Tell me how this is going to changed other than I would be 1/2 gasser during the day. Trying to make lite of the situation because I am so embrassed by this. Constipation is also a side effect. I wanted to say no _ _ _ _ sherlock. My husband was giving me a hard time becase he thought what I eat was causing this smelly probably. At this point I am not sure what I am going to do.
