oh thank you sooo much...

ok well i am under the understanding that there are days when its hard to even move and the pain is almost unbearable.. am i right so far?

So if pain medication isnt working how do you relieve some of the fustration in a way that dosnt make you sore for the next few days and dosnt cause any pain at the time?

Surely it must be really fustarting and i appreciate that im not going to pretend i know what its like but i can try imagine... i just want to come up with some coping mechanisms to releive the fustartion when the pain is almost unbearable and also what pain medication is a high sucess rate of working?

Sorry a lot of questions i know but well i am nieve on the subject and need to learn about it fast...

Thanks

Storm

Each person is different in finding coping methods and what works for them exercise helps some but not me I end up hurting myself or end up in a major flare up everytime I try to exercise. What does work for me is a long hot bath or if it is really bad I will go sit in a friends hot tub but alot of people can't handle even the warm water on there skin, gentle massage is also helpful for me. As far as pain meds that is also up to what works for the person and no as far as for me nothing takes all the pain away put it is a combo of pain meds and muscle relaxers, anti-depressants and a wonderful medicated cream called ketoderm that is compounded by Custom Pharmacy Solutions in Hoover AL it has been awesome but you have to have a prescription for it and you may be able to get it at other pharmacys as well not sure. Oh and support of family and friends plays a big part so you have already made the first step in helping your friend.

Nothing helped me until I got on pain medication and Robaxin. It's an antiflmatory/ muslce relaxer.

I'm also on an antidepressant. This combination seems to be the best for me.

My pain medication is Hydrocodone 10mg I'm suppose to take 4 a day, but I find it hard to take that many so far I have only been able to take two a day, but it's working well for me.

Having friends that are just willing to listen when we have to talk about our pain also helps because then we feel we have someone in our life that trys very hard to understand our pain.

I too am blessed with a good friend who listens to every little complaint I have and trys to keep up on Fibro for me!

Your a wonderful friend for being so concerened. Having Fibro is very difficult. I have been stuck in my house for 17 months in awful pain and now that I have pain meds I have been getting out!

I say just stay by your friends side during these difficult times and together the two of you can celebrate the times when your friends pain is not so intense!
