I have had a tens unit for many years. I cant find mine so my mother gave me hers. Here is my delema. When I use it, it will help for about 10 minutes but the second I turn it off my pain it right back up to where its normally at. And while I am wearing it my pain will spread out farther or down lower or up higher. Any one else get that? I just feel like I get no relief from any thing.

I even feel like lately when I use icy hot that when I put it on it feels like its burning my skin at first. It hurts so bad. Then it wares off.

HI.. I have never had any luck with a tens unit....

but when the same thing happened to me... my doctor told me to move it more to the spine..... get between the pain and the brain....

He said to put it on my spine...... It was more bother than help.....

but good luck...

I will have to lie and say my Tens Unit works even if it doesn't.

I was tlaking to my PT and I told her that I had asked people about the Tnes Unit and that some of them told me it doesn't help or it only makes it worse.

My PT then looked at me and said well those are people with Psychogenic pain or they don't want to get better even though they say they do. Then she said , it feels good even on people that don't have problems.

I thought how can you compare yourself to thos that have pain. I just didn't say anything and knew right then that I will have to pretend it works.

I really hope mine helps because my upper back where my shoulder blades are is always so tight and painful.

Well, sometimes my helps me and other times it doesn't. Now go figure that one. I would just say that to my PT and I am sure they would understand that. It all depends on what is hurting and where and what is causing the problem that day. See fibro has many different faces. It all depends on what is hurting that day as to if the unit will help. Good luck!

I don't get anything but temporary relief from tens.Along with my meds I keep ICy Hot and capsazin in business.I get the XL patches, dot them with capsazin and have one on each shoulder and one on each hip covering my back.Sometimes it burns like hell but its better than the other pain deep in my muscles.
