CAN FIBRO & SPINAL BIFIDA BE LINKED?

Hi- my daughter is 24. She is beautiful and sweet natured but for several years now has had strange unexplained symptoms. Dr after Dr had no clue. After much research on her end we believe it to be Fibro. She now has a very understanding E.N.T. Dr who's wife has similar symptoms. But he is not really sure what to do as it is not his field. I have watched her go from bad to worse. She was forced to drop out of dental school due to poor health, along with a TON of other things she has been forced to lay down.

My question is this- She was diagnosised with Spinal Bifida. IS THERE ANY PROVEN LINK TO SPINAL BIFIDA AND FIBROMYALGIA???

I really need help and research regarding this! IF I can find the link she qualifies for a special program here and MUCH NEEDED FREE medical insurance. She is about to lose hers any time now. We are all very concerned as to what she will do once she loses her current insurance.

I would GREATLY appreciate ANY degree of assistance from my new friends here. Thank you so much

mothersquest,

I am not sure if spina bifida and fibro has any connections. But you can go to www.fmaware.com and they should be able to help or even give you more websites to go to. I am so sorry that your daughter is going through this. You know she can go to a rhuematologist before her insurance runs out or even just to a General Practicner. They can diagnose Fibro with tender points and trigger points. If she has it then there is meds. that she can try so maybe she will be able to get some control over it. I am so sorry that I can not help you anymore. But my prayers and thoughts are with your daughter and with you.

{{Soft & Gentle Hugs}} to both of you

Thank you so much! She had gone to the G.P and he REFUSED to list Fibro on her medical chart. He called it her "Death Sentence" for Medical insurance reasons. But she has had the pressure points test and has most if not all of them. She takes pain management medication.

Ok So is she involved with a pain clinic? I would either way, to get a diagnosis is either have the pain doctor diagnose her or go to a rhuematologist. What State is your daughter in?

No not a pain managment. Her E.N.T wrote the scrips. His wife also has Fibro so he is somewhat familiar with the pain level but that is it. She is in Houston.

Ok the best thing that I would recommend is to go online and search for Fibromyalgia doctors in your state. There are some doctors listed here. Get an appt. for your daughter . I just found this website on the web. http://www.fibroandfatigue.com/aboutus.php? utm_source=adwords&utm_campaign=local_texas&utm_medium=ppc&utm_sponsored==texas_content I done a quick search and they state that they have two Texas locations. Also Hampton7026 told me about a place in Austin, Tx that she is dealing with and she thinks highly of this doc. also. Their website is www.onlineallergycenter.com

I sure hope that your daughter can find someone to help her. You can also let her know about us and we can help both of you. You have anymore questions then you can pm me and I will help as much as I can.

Rita

mothersquest, I am so sorry about your daughter. I think that there are some really good doctors in Houston. At least that is what I am told by family members that live in that area. Look into the place Rita told you about in Austin. Hampton has had a lot of good things to say about them.

If I can find anything on the net, I will post it.
