What is your favorite store bought coffee? I need some good coffee, but cannot afford to spend a lot, we have three coffee drinkers in the house and go through a lot. To make this pertain to fibro...I can't think of anything....

It's pertinent to fibro because without coffee I'd sleep all day and my fibro fog would be even worse than it is now!

Right now I'm drinking the budget brand sold at Wal-Mart, Great Value 100% Columbian. It's fine for every day use and tastes as good as Folger's Columbian, which is my favorite. I think the Great Value is normally around $6 for a 2.2 oz. can. It all depends on your taste, of course, but I prefer a stronger, but not too bitter coffee, and this one fills the bill. Once in awhile I'll splurge on a gourmet brand when I can afford it, but I'm the only coffee drinker in the house. Occasionally I'll mix a little of the more expensive 'gourmet" brand in with the cheaper discount brand to give it a little more zing.

FYI- These types of topics should be posted in the Fibro Lounge - Off topic discussions. It will still show up in the FMS Group area too.

It's okay. Not gonna worry about it this time. Just for future reference.

Regarding the coffee- I drink 'cold' coffee. It's called Diet Coke. I try not to drink too much of it, cause I know pop is bad for me. But I just have to have a little.

Good luck with your coffee quest!

Actually I use my hot coffee mug for fibro purposes. If I have a headache I put the hot mug on my forehead, and I rest it A LOT on my breast bone, seems it is always sore.

Oh and to the original topic, hubby always buys Starbucks.

I read in FM Awareness lit that coffee can deplete you vitamins and mineral and also in your large intestines where they are absored it inhibits the absorbsion of the vitmines and minerals. I thought that was interesting. So I stopped drinking coffee...Just an FYI.

I usually stick to Maxwell House or Folgers Columbian and buy when it's on sale. If I do have to resort to the store brand, I add a pinch of salt (very small pinch) to the grounds to help take out some of the bitterness.

I also use Folgers Columbian. I am trying my hardest to limit it each day. They don't call me 'coffeebean' for nothing!

I love Starbucks, but it is not good for my cash flow. So I normaly buy Maxwell house master blend. Sometimes I mix cinnomon in with the grounds.

Yes coffee is bad for fibro. There are so many things that they tell you not to have. I choose to drink coffee and give up something else. We all have our vices. Coffee is mine.

I have cut down to one small cup each morning instead of three large mugs. My favorite is the Eight O'Clock brand.
