Just wanted to share this. This "Doctor's Office" (I won't say in what State) on Lake Tahoe...whoops, slipped, anyway, they called me up and said they could CURE Fibro. It's actually due to the c-1 in your neck pinching the minenges, etc. medical jargon and so on. They said it is an intensive 8-10 week clinic. You MUST reside there for the entire 8-10 weeks. No outside contact. You are given treatments ranging from Chiropractic, Supplements, Deep Tissue Massage, Low impact aerobic, etc. After your therapy is over you are given a list of things you are NOT to do for the first 6 months to a year. If you DO happen to do one of these things (like sweep the floor) you just undid everything that they did for you and you will have to RE-DO all the treatment. But unlike the biggest loser where you lose weight and can get a healthy lifestyle, slim figure, and a chance to win BIG MONEY, the only one getting BIG MONEY is the Doc. This little 'trip' costs around $5,000.....A WEEK!! The lady tells me on the phone how "nice it is to be able to get away from everyday demands, and your husband and kids, and...." and I'm thinking to myself, WHY would I want to get AWAY from my family, and pay $5,000 to do it? Shoot, I could spend that $5,000, go to the Bahamas or Hawaaii, lose myself in Pina Coladas and feel just as good, say I forgot and did something too soon, and have to go back in 3 months, and keep that up until the family catches on! LOL Just kidding, I really do NOT want to be away from my family. The week in CA for my son's procedures was the first we'd ever been apart since we married!

But hey, I think I just found a new job. I could pop some tents up in the back 40, tell people it's a spa treatment, they can roll around in the mud in the pond (that's acutally imported mud from...um....Tibet...yeah that's it, Tibet, the Monk's sent it to me) and the walk from there to the yard at the house is their excercise program, if they make it, they can eat. Let's see...Oh yes, the Garden, working in the Garden gives appreciation of Mother Earth which is essential in healing the body.

LOL

Ok, to the new people, I'm kidding about my "retreat" here at the house, or going to the Bahamas or Hawaii, but that call was totally for real!

Anyone feel like the Bahamas?

I wish tons of love and hugs!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! Well, I guess not- since you said that call was totaly for real.

Just unbelievable that there's really a place like this out there? That's absolutely horrible! Well, I guess not for the millionaires out there. But Geesh!

Do you remember the name of the place? If so, could you send it to me in a PM? I'd love to see if they have a website and if I can voice my opinion to them.

LOL Jenny!

Actually, while on the phone she wanted to know where I work and how long, course I told her I don't, and am disabled. She asked if we own our home, what my husband does, etc. ALL kind of personal questions. But she was easily side tracked Here is their list (on site) of what they want first off before telling you ANY cost, so I guess the $5,000 a week is just a starting point for the poor...like us. LOL

First Name:

Last Name:

Date of Birth: Month of Birth: January February March April May June July August September October November December Year of Birth:

Street:

City:

State:

Zip Code:

Do you own or rent your home? Own Rent

Monthly household net income:

Home Phone Number:

Cell Phone Number:

Work Phone Number:

Email Address:

Here is the web site: http://www.stopfibro.com/index.html

I find it interesting that they put on there:

Why FMS Starts with Trauma

Why FMS Starts with Surgery

Why FMS Starts with Mental Stress

Why FMS Starts with Genetic Predisposition

Make you want to say Ok Doc, WHICH ONE is it???? Do you match the cause up to what happened to the person?

The test and the cure are named after him:

The "Whitcomb Sign:" A Test for Fibromyalgia

The "Whitcomb Technique"

And in reading in the site, you have Chiropractic treatment 3-5 times a day!!

I found it interesting in one place it says after 2 weeks of no contact with family/home, most people want to go home. Then later it says that after their 8-10 weeks, people are having so much fun they WON'T go home, they want to stay on and meet 'new friends'.

(Sorry to joke but it sounds like one of those Ol Folks Homes....Come on and Pass On Ethel, we need your bed! No no Sonny....I want to meet some more new friends first. rotf) Sorry, sick humor!

Any how, happy reading on that joke site. The lady who called said she 'used to have' Fibro. I said Oh, so you are cured?? Well, no, not exactly, but she'd say abour 95% cured. And btw, Dr Whitcomb also HAD Fibro, that's how he came up with this technique.

Puhlease!

.

This guy actually had/has Fibro?! Who does he think he's fooling? How many Fibros could actually be 'this' successful? Or, come up with this type of scam? Well, maybe it's not a scam. But, that's how I'm seeing it.

I mean really- Fibromyalgia patients don't have this kind of brain processing or energy to ever pull something like this off.

I can not believe that call you got Pamela. That is pretty bad especially saying it will make you want to stay after 8-10 weeks. I am also going to go to that site and if there is anyplace to leave a comment then I am with Amy I will be leaving a comment.

Everytime there is something new on tv or in the paper about curing fibro or at least taking most of the pain away my old man right away wants me to try it. Then last Sunday I had this guy from Wahoo who called and said that his wife had fibro but they take this all natural Juice? and now she is healthier then before. But at the end of the call I said that I am glad that your wife got cured and he then said that she still has flareups every once in awhile. I told him then she is not cured!

Well in talking to Dr's even if you are in "remission" and not having flare ups it is like Alcoholics, they will ALWAYS be Alcoholics, just as we will ALWAYS have Fibro. We may have periods of "remission" but it will always be. I think this guy would say Oh look, you are healed, just because MAYBE he got you to remission, but when you get home and have a flareup, he'd have an answer for it, Oh, you did something you shouldn't have. I agree, a person with Fibro wouldn't have the brain function to do all this. I don't believe he had/has it either.

I'd be like a young boy in boot camp, 2 weeks and I'd DEFINATELY want and be crying to come home to my honey! And 3-5 Chiropractic treatments a day!! OMG!! Next time I see my Chiro I'm going to tell him, I KNOW he won't be agreeable to that!! I'd think that would be more Shocking to our gentle systems!

Yep, Snake Oil Salesmen! (Like some of the Google ads that show on here some times) If there was a cure, don't you think MORE people would be cured and singing those praises high and low? I know I would be telling EVERYONE about it, and I wouldn't be scalping for it either! So sad that people feel they have to do that!

Definitely be more of us running to get cured. And believe me if I was sure that there was a cure then I do not care how much pain I was in: I would fly, run, drive or even walk(as fast as possible) to get cured.
