I was driving to pick my daughter up from girl scouts last night, right after work, and I got lost and was late picking her up! I was in tears by the time I got there. I have been to the same place time and again but I was sitting at a stop light just looking around me going, "Where the hell am I?" The girl scout leader also has fibro and was very understanding, but still I was so upset. It just topped off a bad day.

I am loosing the abililty to function well, again. I know I am headed for a major fibro flare. I have been hurting for months, but I haven't had the fog till yesterday. I am hoping I can rest soon. I have to go to school and then home for a nap then work. Wish me luck, today has to be better right?

I'm hoping today is a better day for you. Maybe you can get some extra rest over the weekend.

I absolutely HATE when that happens! It is the main reason that I won't drive anymore. Before I started working from home, I went to go to a job interview. I knew where I was going, been there a million times. On the way home I got so disoriented that I didn't know where I was. I was in tears but somehow I got home.

Another time I went with my husband to return a rental car. Of course we had to take two cars so we could get home, so I had to drive one. He said to just follow him. Once again, this was an area I was very familiar with. Well, he got too far ahead of me and I couldn't see him. I was literally screaming at him in the car (even though he couldn't hear me). He was panicked because he thought I was lost. I found the rental place and waited for him (I didn't have a cell phone) but he kept driving around trying to find me.

Very scary.

I'm so sorry that happend to you.I can't imagine how scary that would have been to not know how to get to your child. I hope that never happens to you again.

I usually forget what direction something is in and I have to stop for a minute to remember which way I should go.

Sometimes I will need to go someplace and drive somewhere other than where I was going. Like- if I need to go to Walmart I'll drive to my daughters school and thats scary.

I can understand your fear. There are many times I turn down the road and then have to think where I am going. I hate it.

Hey ya'll, try living in farm country. Everything is flat and looks the same. My husband finally got a GPS for the car so I wouldn't get lost. I didn't grow up here and I'm still not that familiar with the roads. The people here use alot of turn east or go south on such and such a RT ...

I'm used to land mark directions. I had to follow my husband to the repair shop once. He was in his truck and me in my car. I was on his bumper the whole time. I have panic attacks when I drive. It's like the fibro fog hit me for just a few seconds. It happened to me on the PA turnpike in the Allegheney tunnel the first time. Scared the beejeebees out of me. It was like where the heck am I and what am I doing here? Terrifying. I had to pull over to quit shaking.

I have panic attacks when I drive too! And I had to drive when we moved--from Arkansas to Florida! I was in tears by the time we got to Miami. My daughter kept saying "it's okay mom, you're doing fine." How pathetic.

Hi, I am new. I just wanted to say that I have the same problems mentioned here. I pass my turns and start heading to one place when I was suppose to be going to another and when some one is telling me directions and tells me to turn left, I turn right lol. I have also suffered with anxiety/panic attacks for 21 yrs.

Hi I noticed you said that you worked from home. I can't work anymore because of my FMS and my daughters autism but I don't get enough income to cover everything so I was wondering was kind of work do you do from home?
