Went to bed at 10:30 pm. Shortly after laying down on my stomach, it felt like I was being stabbed in the lower back but at the same time there was a weight pressing me down. Had to breathe really fast to stop the pain and then it stopped when I turned to my right side. Kept waking up with painful twinges in my lower right arm and lower left arm. Had burning in my upper back thigh on left leg and lower left calf. This morning when I got up, it felt like my left knee was swollen but didn't look like it. When I am sitting my left leg feels numb from the knee down and feels like dead weight. Also the leg feels cold. I started the prednisone 3 days ago and since then I have had a bad headache start within 2 hours of taking it.

Sounds like you really need to put in a call to your dr. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I just looked it up & the leg pains, swelling & migraine headaches are side effects of the pwednisone. I would deffinately call your doctor & report your sx to him. Good luck!

Prednisone is a terrible medicine. Only take it IF there really is nothing out there that can help you. Yes, it works...it works very well...but, the side effects are horrible. I'm not talking just the headaches ... there is much more that this medicine can do to you. Look it up online. The Dr.'s tried to put my Mom on this years ago. I always do research when a Dr. tries to prescrible meds...and when I found out what it can do to you...I told her and she stopped immediately. Like I said before...only take this IF there is nothing else that can help you. And always research what your Dr. wants you to take. There are usually alternatives. The FDA tends to ok meds...whether they are GOOD for you or not. It's up to us to check on them. I agree with shamarie6...you should put in a call/visit to your Dr. right away. I wish you all the best.

Got through to the on call doctor after also developing puffy eyes, and lips, and itching all over. I was simply told to cut the dosage back from 30 milligrams to 10 milligrams and take Benadryl. I already take Zyrtec. Told if things get worse tomorrow then call my regular doctor then cause she's in the office tomorrow.

You are having what sounds like an allergic reaction! When did the swelling & itching start? If itwere me, I'd go to the er. Do you have rash anywhere, like whelts? An allergic reaction is nothing to mess with!

Yes, if it's affecting your lips it can move to your throat very rapidly! Please, consider going to the ER.
