Sandradee, I wholeheartedly agree with you. when i became totaly disabled ate 32 my family anda friends expected me to continue doing everything they asked and when i couldnt they said i was lazy and worthless. Now at 46 i have new friends but most still expect me to do what theyask and to continue taking care of evveryone. My daughter as illnesses herself and has a hard time taking care of her 2 yr old son, since they live with us i know i do to much to take care of him but when i dont i feel so guilty and noone says so but I know by the way they look at me and acted toward me on the days i cant even take care of myslef which is more days than not that they think that all i have to do is buck up and quit being lazy and i could take care of them all. because as we all know your families illnesses have got to be worse than ours since they cant see ours. NOT but how do i help them to change that thinking, some day God will do it for me.

RED...I know exactly what you are talking about with the family I have a sis who has had lupus then didn't then has so none of know for sure weather she does or doesn't then she was telling us she had a brain tumor then one night in the emergency room her husband asked the dr. about it and he was like what tumor she doesn't have a brain tumor and the last I heard she had cancer oh and she also says she has fibro don't get me wrong I wouldn't wish any of these illness on anyone and can't understand why anyone would lie about it she is also a drug seeker but doesn't take them she sells them so I don't like talkin to my family about my illness because I always am scared they are going to think I am turning out like her the difference is I would gladly give anyone that asked my dr's numbers and they can ask for themselves it is just so aggravateing when there are people in your on family that make those of us who need meds and help so difficult to get dr's to take us serious. I also have wondered what I did to bring this on myself but the fact is it doesn't matter if it was caused by something I did I can't undo it so I can't waste the energy beating myself up for it and you shouldn't either

Angel we all have to vent sometimes and Lord knows I have done my fair share since I found this site but I think that is because we know that people on here actually understand what we are going through. I have noticed alot of people talking about going to the emergency room and was just wondering why? That may sound crazy but I have only been to the emergency room for really bad lower back pain in the 6 years I was dx'ed I guess only because I know they want do anything for me anyway and because I worked at the er and know how they treat people that come in with pain they think everyone is looking for drugs so I only go to the er if I think I may die lol.

I don't understand that either. The Emergency Room is for life threatening emergencies. I don't think fibro is a life threatening emergency. HOWEVER, there are some times when pain is so intense it is difficult to rule out an emergency. I can't tell you if it is right or wrong to go to the ER, but I wouldn't do it myself.

I agree I am not saying it is wrong to go because there has been times that I have said I was going but always talk myself outta it because I know how they treat people I was just wondering what people were going for was wondering if I had just gotten so use to stuff that I was ignoring things that maybe I shouldn't because I am really bad about doing that I am at the pain clinic, sleep dr. and neuro so often for routine appts. I don't go any where near a white coat unless I am deathly ill but that's just me by know means am I knocking anyone for doing what they have to, to get relief so PLEASE don't think that was just curious.

We go to the ER cause at the time the pain is os intense that it is life threatening. Because i have gotten to the point that I either get relief from the pain or i WILL DIE cause I will see to it that i dont hurt anymore. When I actually do go to the ER my husband knows that I will harm myself if i cant get relief. This last time i actually got a doc that knew what i was going thru. He must have someone he loves with this as he mentioned he knew several fibro cases. He gave me enough meds to get thru this last flare up and I see my doc friday. i always wait until i am this bad becuse i do know how they treat someone but it is the patients pain bill of rights of the hospital to make sure they help, even if its a shot or something just while you are there. if you have never been to the er maybe your fibro just hasnt gotten that bad yet or you have a doc who helps you control it. I and many others are not that fortunate. whenever i see someone worse than me i always think Therefore the Grace of God go I. So you know it is life threatening when I decide to go to the ER.

HI... you are blessed to have a husband that at least tries to understand what you are going through....

Hospitals no matter what you go for are life threatening.....

did you know that 1 out of every 200 people that go into the hospital for treatment die.... because of some type of hospital mistake.......

or disease or infection they get there

Fletch2ya you really shouldn't say that, the hospitals are just trying to,give freely of their services.A bit of golden staph here, some ebola virus there it's the only thing that they give away for free.Any way I've heard you die of old age in the waiting room.
