Yesterday my 14 year old granddaughter was sent home from school sick.. She had just been back for three days after having Bronchial Pneaumonia. Jordan has had Asthma since she was a baby. Anyway her Mom took her immediatly to Drs. office and he sent her on to hospitol. Test was done and she is positive for HINI.

Needless to say this sent me into a spiral. I feel like she should be in hospitol but the gave her meds and sent her home. They also gave Brandi(her Mom) Tamiflu for herself and the two boys as they have been around her during the infectuous stage. Brandi notified the High school and found out that some 39 students were out with Flu like symptoms that day.We don't know yet how many are HINI.

Please add Jordan to your prayers for me. I am so worried for her Thanx all

Of course. Please don't panic. Despite the news coverage and doom and gloom stories, it's (from what I've seen) no worse than the regular flu. Hope she gets well soon.

Ditto-lifting her up in prayer right now...Praying for full recovery and not spreading through the family!
With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.

Jordan is in my prayers as is the rest of the family. I don't blame you, I would be worried sick too. It's so easy for everyone to say not to worry but I can totally understand where you're coming from. Please keep us posted.

BTW, this was not meant to sound rude to those whe said not to worry so please don't be offended, I worry about everything so I know where she's coming from, that's all Smile

hugs and prayers to all

Hi Granny ~~~

Good to see you here ~~~ it s been awhile !!

I am sorry that Jordan has the nasty flu and of course, will keep her in prayers for speedy recovery.

What you described after she was dx d and sent home is exactly what drs. here did with 3 yr old down the road from us (except that she is confined to her room for 48-72 hours while parents disinfect rest of the house). They prescribed Tamiflu for her also ~~~

Please don t stress yourself with this ~~~ Jordan is stronger than you realize . It is just scary to see her so miserable, I m sure ~~~ I pray everyday that my grandson (7) doesn t contract this nasty illness. (There were 2 cases in his elementary school last year.)

My 5 year old grand-daughter tested positive for swine flu a few weeks ago. She ran a high fever for 24 hours and had a terrible headache. Some tummy problems...but not much.

Within 36 hours she was doing well.

Just watch for signs of complications....dehydration, fever too high or can't get fever down, pneumonia symptoms.

I will pray for your family.

Hugs

Hi Granny,

I'm so sorry poor Jordan has this after just being so sick. I'm glad they gave the family the Tamiflu and I hope no one else gets it. Before you go visit, find out how long she's contagious...I've read it recently online but forget what the recommendation was.

This flu is supposed to hit the youngsters the hardest. Most babyboomers will not get it because a similar virus went around in 1957. I hope Jordan bounces back quickly, despite her asthma and recent illness.

I'll keep you all in my thoughts

blessings
