hey yalls, sorry just got caught up reading this, been out of town for 2 days with my endo doctor. cad, i hope you find something you can take that will help you with your pain.if you ever need someone to talk to you can pm me on yahoo at deewolflvr. i dont know what kind of advice to offer but to always document every reaction you have. i am seeing an endo doc now to find out why i have so many reactions to medications. i am unable to take benedryl causei am allergic to it. i am also allergic to valium, versed, and phenergan. also have allergies to latex adhesives. also have a super serious adverse reaction to metformin. so my doctors are unable to really find anything to help me. right now i am on ultram 100mg 3 times a day. that just puts a dent into my pain, but at least its enough that i can work my few days a week and take care of my family. there are days i want to really shoot myself also cad, but just hang in there. on top of my fibro i have a list of several things wrong with me and i have a severely adhd 5 yr old daughter to contend with. talk about major handfuls lol. wll enough of my rambling. sorry if it doesnt help anyone.

Cadburry,

I hope you are okay, please write back when you can & tell me how you are doing.

Also, if you carry a list of your medications with you, don't forget to mark down that you are allergic to it if you find out that you are.

Take careSmile

This is the first time I have had a medication make me break out into a rash. The only other medicine I'm allergic to is codeine, and even that doesn't break me out in a rash. It just makes me very sick and instead of helping my pain it makes my pain worse!

What I don't understand about the fentynal is why did it releive some of my pain if I'm allergic to it? Just from my codiene experience I would think that it would cause me more pain instead of releiving some of my pain.

Wolflover I feel so bad for you. I don't know how on earth I would ever make it if I was allergic to everything that could help me.

The only thing I have done ok with so far is the Ultram ER 200mg. It hasn't helped me, but I read in combination with a narcotic pain medicine it will help keep you from having to go to high doses so I want to stay on it. I have two kids and don't want to be to tired to take care of them.

I thought this patch was going to be a blessing but now I feel like I have been on an emotional rollercoaster.

i found out i was allergic to the adhesives when after my hysterectomy they put me on the estrogen patches, after putting the patch on i started breaking out in blisters and rashes just where the tape touched me. since then i cant even wear bandaids without breaking out. recently the last few days i have had major hives on my stomach, neck, back, arms and hands, but we have no idea what from. the only thing we can think of is maybe the chemicals that my soon to be hubby brings home from work is getting onto me and i am reactin to them. its not to bad being allergic to the benedryl, valium and versed, the only thing they really do to me is keep me wired for days and days. but for some reason caffine knocks me out to sleep. this is why my primary doc at the VA is sending me to the endo doc. to find out why my body does the opposite thing with meds. she says it is very hard to give me meds for things i am diagnosed with cause the ones that are for the problems i have make mine worse.

Wolflover I really hope they find something that works for you. I can't imagine what you go through having the opposite reactions to the meds.

I hope you all find whats making you bhreak out in hives really soon. Your husband might have to start washing his own work clothes and take a shower right when he walks through the door so that you don't get the chemicals all over you. My mom went through that with her x-husband because she kept breaking into hives.

I feel so bad for you. I will pray that you can find out why this is happening and that the doctor can come up with a medicine that will help you soon!

Update

The rashes have cleared up for the most part although I still have little bumps on my arm, face, and upper back. My ears don't itch so bad that they burn now, but I still have allot of itching.

I did try to call my doctor but the doctor on call is long distance and I have a long distance block on my phone. I have been trying to catch my mom, but she must have stayed out of town last night. As soon as I reach her I will get her cell phone and call my doctor and let them know whats going on.

I also feel nauseated today. Around 4 or 5am I felt like I had something in my throat, but it passed. I felt like I was hypervinitlating and felt really doped up. I have anxiety if I feel doped up so I don't actually know if it was the medicine or if it was my nerves.

Thank you to everyone who was there for me during this very scary experience.

I think I have made it through the worst part now, but I'm still going to call my doctor and ask her if I should come in tomarrow and if she can write me out something to stop the itching that I still have.

I'm also a little shaky today, and I'm going to ask about that as well.
