The long wait to get into the pain clinic and for what, another let down.

I was so sure I was going to be feeling better today. I just knew it.

I put my Fentynal patch on at 3pm today and I can't tell a bit of a difference so I called the pharmacy and asked them when it should start working and they said a couple of hours after taking it you should have noticed a difference.Sad

I got off the phone and started crying and my daughter happend to walk by and saw me crying and she was like whats wrong mom. I'm so tired of living.

I thought this medicine was among the best of them. I thought I was going to feel better, but I still hurt so bad I want to go to a hospital, and now I'm going to have a migraine from all this crying.

I just don't know how much more I can take.

I want to go to my pain doctor and tell her to shove this patch where the sun doesn't shine and to just take me out back and shoot me, then problem solved she wont have to worry about her medications being abused and I wont be in all this pain.

She said that she wanted to put me on the patch for now because thats what she feels comfortable with and it's hard to abuse.

First of all I have no history of drug abuse, secondly I don't drink, and third I took a drug test for them and passes and they can drug test me anytime they like because I'm no drug abuser!!!!!

I'm so tired of being treated like this. My only crime is that I'm in allot of pain, and the only thing I'm guilty of is wanting to find some releife!

What should I do?????

Are you still taking the ultram she gave you? I have never used the patch so I don't know how long it takes. Are you sure you put it on right? I'm sorry you are still in pain, hopefully something will kick in soon. Try and relax and see if any relief comes. Being upset is not going to help right now. If it doesn't give you any relief by morning I would call the dr and let her know maybe she can adjust the meds somehow. I know you've been in alot of pain lately and hope you can get some relief soon.
I'm not a dr, anything stated in my post are from my own personal experiences.

I am a Herbalife distributor and have been trained in nutrition and weightloss. If you have any questions please send me a pm.

Never give up the fight we are all in this together.

Yes I'm still taking the Ultram and have been on it for four days now. Tomarrow I go up to 200mg of Ultram. I'm so tired of being in this pain. The Ultram didn't put a dent in my pain either. Maybe once I go up to 200mg it will help.

I am so sorry that you haven't found any relief. But please don't ever get to the point that you think this world would be better off without you. You are a great inspiration to those of us who are just learning the ropes about this dreadful disease. And yes in my opinion it is a disease. My thoughts and prayers are with you. And if you ever need anyone to talk with just drop me a line.

This is what I just got off of WEBMD. I sorry to say but it can to up to 24 hours. I wish that there was something we could do for you. We all know you pain. Flash back came to me so many times I say I just want to go to the hospital. I am on so many meds what can they do.

It may take up to 24 hours before you have pain relief. Take immediate-release narcotic pain medications (e.g., oxycodone) for acute/breakthrough pain as directed by your doctor. Follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instruction for the safe use of non-narcotic pain relievers (e.g., acetaminophen, ibuprofen). If you have been using other long-acting narcotic pain medications regularly, check with your doctor or pharmacist since they may need to be stopped before starting this medication

Thinking of you!

HI..I was on fentanyl for over 8 months....and it can take atleast 24 hrs to get into you system... the skin has to absorb the med and then it has to be picked up by the blood stream.... so it can take a while...

this is no fast acting meds......

I don't have any fast acting pain meds. She is afraid of drug abuse, so I'm SOL. Well I'm going to take a couple of tylenol and hope that tomarrow is a better day.

Thank you all for being here I was on the verge of a royal anxiety attack!

The increase in ultram may help also. It did me. I now take 300mg a day and I can tell if I miss a dose.
