MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

hi... Well.... as far as me...... Lyrica was horrible... headaches, sick all the time..... dizzy..... you name it....... this stuff is not for everyone...... if it works for you great.... but if it does not.... you had an experience you will not soon forget.....

But I think if your doctor thinks it is right to try.... you should....

it just may work for you..... but if it does not by week 2 I would be talking to my doctor, and not..increasing the dosage..... but that is just me..... I am "NO" doctor......

Goodluck

I am on a dose of Lyrica ~ 150mg 3 times per day! I started out at a low dose, increasing it till the pain was 85% gone!! Yes, I do experience the light headed and dizzy feelings, but I have found that it is mainly due to a lack of sleep!

I have been on Lyrica for several months now and I have been dizy but have had severe inner ear in the past and thought it had came back. I tried the cymbalta and it made me very nauseated to the point I was vomitting evry time I ate. I can't tell a hugh difference in the pain so I am now taking the 150mg 3X daily hopeing this will make the difference

The Lyrica seems to be working. I have been on it since February so far. I take it around 7:30 at night because I go to bed between 8:30 and 9:00pm. The next morning I feel fine. Have'nt been sick from it yet. Thanks Toni

Yes, you have to get your sleep with the Lyrica or the dizziness and unbalanced feeling will set in. The Lyrica paired with Cymbalta works great for me, making me sleep well at night and calm my stress for worktime.

I'm a big fan of Lyrica! It's the only thing that really helps my nerve pain. I don't know where I would be without it. Lots of side effects though - weight gain, extreme sleepiness, speech problems, memory problems, dry mouth. You would have to determine if the negative outweighs the positive. For me it does. I just have to take a nap each day. So yes, it helps sleep problems. Pain, yes it helps my nerve pain. It doesn't help my joint pain or muscle pain though. It's expensive, but I have BCBS, so they cover most of it. I use thier mail-in plan and it's only $35. If I use Walgreens, it's more expensive.

Also, and this is important - for me it took about a month to get over the initial dizziness and nausea it caused. It was really bad, but I hung in there as the Dr. said it would go away. Most of it did. I still get a little nauseous with it if I don't take a nap or go to sleep when I take it, but it's tolerable.

Yes thanks I appreciate all of the responses. I suppose I will try it if that is what the Dr ends up recommending. I still have no prescription meds to get through the weekend and I have having a lot of company on Sunday for my daughters confirmation--will have to feed about 25 people, clean the house ect. Should I call and see if I can get something for the weekend or just try and tough it out? I take Tylenol, Ibuprofin, amd Aleve through out the day on a rotating time schedule--they don't work!!

Hurtallover...CALL YOUR DOCTOR RIGHT NOW!! You still have time to get medication to relieve your symptoms, if only for the weekend! Otherwise..can I recommend a good wine to drink? That helps at times too!!!

Explain to the doctors assistant that you are hurting and with all your company coming, this is an urgent request!!! Or at least something to calm those nerves down. 25 people is alot to feed. I only wish...very hard...that you will have help in all the prep and cooking. If you don't have help...grab somebody to help you cook. I'm afraid you will 'crash' after your big company filled Sunday!!

To "Abetterday", I too could not live without my Lyrica. I'm on 150mg 3x daily and it works great for me! I had the dizziness and fuzzy head, but it did go away with time! I looked deep inside of myself and came to the conclusion that with all Lyricas side effects...it is still worth it. The relief it gives to me is unbelievable! So now I am 'fat' but very happy with Lyrica. I wish you luck with Sundays company!!
