MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

My doctor said that she went to a seminar and the pain specialist said to take tramedol for pain, cymbalta for nerve pain, and topamax. This cocktail will help with the symptoms of fibro pain. Thought it might help!

I took the first dose of tramedol tonight. I was in a lot of pain today, I didn't sleep last night, but, I am feeling ok right now!!!! I hope it works for you too. I have been taking the cymbalta for 3 days now, but, I did notice a significant difference tonight with the tramedol.

Vicodine is stronger than Tramedol. Tramedol is generic for Ultram. It is a non-narcotic pain medicine, but is suppose to be as good as a narcotic pain releiver.

Tramedol never helped me, but the pain clinic put me on Ultram anyway, but I'm hopinh since it's name brand it will be more effective, plus I'm on higher doses and extended release this time. I would much rather have Vicodin than a Tramedol, but thats just because they never worked for me.

Cathryn,

Tramadol is Ultram...I have used the regular and Ultram ER and there wasn;t any difference in pain level...they stated that even thogh it is really not a narcotic it transforms in your system as one...I stopped using it...here is some info on it....and no I don't think it is stronger than Vicodin. I myself use Oxycontin....I started on it today and I feel so much better...I was on the short acting dose of it and it would wear off too soon....you might ask for that....

Here is some info on oxycodone class of drugs which is stronger than the Vicodin class of drugs...

I've been taking Tramadol for quite some time. They finaly found a combination that works for me. Well, the best combo until something better comes along.

I used to take 8 tramadol a day and that helped. Although, I was really sick with it. Now I take up to 6 Tramadol a day. In addition to this, I take Hydrocodone (same as Vicodin) on the really bad days.

I DO hope that everyone finds a combo. that works for them. No one needs to be in 'daily' chronic pain.

no one needs to be but my doc tells me that once you have fibro there is no way not to be in pain. She doesn't want to give me anything stronger than what i have right now because i am so young and we are worried about when i get older and this disease gets worse so i have to learned to deal with the pain i'm in. There are so many other things to help with the pain besides meds. so i'm trying my options. i do yoga and have my bf rub my back down nightly. Water areobics help if you can find a place that does that stuff. i live in a small town so i don't get that option.

I'm 27 years old and refuse to live in a great amount of pain. I only have one life to live and if it means I have to be on heavy meds then so be it, but I don't want my kids to remember that we missed out on so much because mom was always sick and in pain.

I havn't even been able to work since January of last year and that was a failed attempt considering I only lasted one day.

I have tried PT and I'm still going to, but if a person needs something to dull the pain they shouldn't feel guilty or worry about having to take it.

Just because I'm not a senior citizen doesn't mean I want to suffer!

If some doctor ever looked at me and said this will get worse so you better learn to deal with it now as best you can I would get up and leave!
