Hi Guys, Just an update on me to let you now how I am doing. Long story short while I was hooked to the Veeg at St Elizabeth in Lafayette Indiana, I had major seizures (what would appear to be grandma seizures).

The neurologist thought they were stresses induced and lowered my yopamax from 150mg aday to 75 mg a day and had me talk tp a psychiatrist. This made me really upset but I staye dcalm and told her that I took it upon myself to seek counseling and that herservices wouldnt be needed as I was already seein a therapist

45 minutes before I was discahrged, I had a grand mal seizure. The nurses all saw it. This time I didnt remember who I was or my husband or that I had a dogand believe me, my dog is my baby.

The discahrge me anyhow.

I get home and no sooner to I get home I have another seizure. My husband cried. (yeah he cried) He made me some soup and a sandwhich and I layed down and slept till 2:30. I got up and sat on my front orch and enjoyed watching the kids play outside and talking to my husnad sitiing next to me until i had another seizure wich scared the you know what out of my kids

We then drove my kids to see their dad for the weekend for his visitation and on the way back, I had a seizure in the car. From there we went to my husbands sisters house for a bbq which was already planned and I didnt want to let anyone down so I went. It was nice sitting out around the pool in the loung chair talking with his family until I had a seizure... AGAIN!

That was it, my husband took me back to the e.r. in our home town and while there I had another seizure, so they kept me for observation overnight. My family doctor saw saw me the next morning and she ordered me to go ST vincent's hospital in Indianapolis.

Sooo, that is where I qam at now and I must say the atmosphere here is great as well as the doctors and team of staff. I had an MRI with contrast late yesturday afternoon and I am awaiting the results of that.

wish me luck, that I may find some answers. At this point, I dont care what is wrong with me, I just want a diagnosis.

Oh BTW the pic is of me and my mom here at St Vincent. She lives in richmond Indiana and drove up to see me.

JustAnnie ~ can I ask you....were you having a bad 'pain day'?? I too went through the Grandmal seizures and they finally figured it out...I was having the seizures due to all the pain I was in!!! I pray they don't put you on anti-seizure medicine. I was on something...oh geez, it started with a 'P', but can't remember the name. But Lordy did that medicine mess me up. I couldn't even walk a straight line!! Just thought I'd share my story of my seizures. After I was put on the morphine for pain, the seizures stopped, thank God!!

Sure hope you are doing ok... Dea

Hello everyone! First let me say Thank You so very much for your kind thoughts and for your sincere prayers for me and my family.

I am finally home from the hospital. I still am not exactly sure what the results of my MRI are because I don't understand all of the medical terminology. However the impression reads as followed:

Nonspecific 3 mm juxtacortical T2 signal hyperintensity midposterior left frontal lobe. It may represent gliosis or demyelination. White matter lesion might be considered as well.

Full result:

Indications:Headaches. White Matter Disease

They did put me on Kolonopin and Verapamil. One is a calcium channel blocker for angina and to control blood pressure (which I do not have high blood pressure), it just sky rockets when I have a seizure, and the other one ofcourse is a seizure med, but is also addicting from what I hear. All I know is im very groggy lately and off balance. I dont know if its the medicine or what, but I honestly have a terrible time remembering anything.

To answer the question of whether or not I was in bad pain when the seizures came on, no I wasnt. I was scheduled to have a video EEG, so I was already in the hospital. I wasnt stressed. I was calm. I never in my life had a gran mal seizure, let alone 10 in one day. My husband thinks they did something in the hospital to make me have a seizure while I was hooked to the wires. Can they do that? All I was aware of is that they were lowering my dose of topamax from 150mg down to 75mg a day.

When the world says give up, hope whispers give it one more try... unknown
