Today was the normal aches, pains, and frustrations but it seems like every 4 months or so i just get so upset and go into some kind of spree. I just deleted my phone book because i am so upset with the people i know and i put a really cruel out going greeting on my voicemail. The people i know are just not understanding and think that i complain about my pains. But im 28 years old and the people i know are about the same age so im talking about FMS and their like fibro WHAT????. im like this useless. It's like talking to the air. Anyway i was diagnosed when i was 23 and i've pretty much tried everything but i was wondering does anyone get like localized pain in certain areas aside from the normal widespread. For instance i woke up a month ago and my shoulder was hurting really bad and it hasn't stopped on top of that i have the normal pain which is about 8 and the shoulder is about a 10

im really wondering what fibro is myself, lol sorry

i joined this group b/c i have alot of pain all over, its always different, sometimes in my neck, sometimes in my lower back, sometimes in my feet, legs, arms, hips, jaw, ribs

maybe i should wiki fibro and see

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia

tons of good info, my problem is after reading for 20 mins i still dont understand what fibro is.

i have alot of those pains listed, what should i ask my doctor?

what are the most common symptoms

hmmm this site is wonderful b/c i find out so much i didn't even know.

my doctor keeps telling me im fine. if he could only live in my shoes for 1 day he would feel what i feel.

i rather not have anymore pain pills, im currently on Norco for 4 bulging disks in my lower back. i dont even understand that b/c my doc says i need surgery, so i went to a neurologist and he says i dont need surgery.. grrrrr

Having bad pain in one area is NOT uncommon- at all. It doesn't even depend on the area- if you read the threads you are going to see people complain about lots of areas that give them more pain. I think the back area and shoulders are VERY common with fibro. There isn't always a reason why one area hurts so badly at least if it is fibro related.

I think everyone here would love for a doc to tell us exactly what fibro is and what causes it. But no one seems to know. When I was diagnosed 17 yrs. ago my doctor is that fibro is a syndrome that affects my tendons, ligaments, and muscles. Now if you here any descriptions it is a chemical imbalance in our mind. Or it is a central nervous disease. Some doc.s call it a syndrome others call it a disease. I call it a PAIN in MY Everywhere. I ache constantly but I also have major pains in different areas. Alot of days my shoulders and neck are so inflammed and so painful that I just want to lay down and die. But I also can have major pain in my legs or my arms. Just about every part of your body will in time have a major pain. Even your insides. I have chest pains, the doc.'s say that my heart is good but it is affected by the fibro, or I have IBS, & RLS and every other problem you can think of. So no one knows exactly what caused fibro or how to cure it. But we here know how to handle it------With each others help. If you hurt some place then someone here will help.

I know that sometimes everyone of us feel like giving up but we do not because of our family-both families.

I know exactly how you feel. I got diagnosed when i was 16 and im only 21. Its definately hard to deal with. Im in class at night and im doing my med law presentation on it so atleast a handful of people will understand what i go through on a daily basis.

My head spins all the time. i get stuck in the middle of sentences. I forget everything. my body "burns"

Its not something i want exactly but i try to goon with life liek we all do here.

A doctor actually wanted to try steroids to see if it would help manage the pain. That could be something to talk to your doc about.

Im 27 so I know how you feel. I feel as though I'm in my 90's most days. At the pain clinic today I was walking all hunched over and the pain doctor asked me do you always walk that way, so I straightened myself out and said no, but the truth is I don't know if I always walk that way. I know I was nervous and also very cold. I was the only one in the room shivering though.

If your doctors are not treating your pain it might time to move on to a pain clinic. I just started mine today and I'm so glad I did!
