from what I have read it is not UltramER, but it is in the same family and sometimes used in conjunction.

I am still trying to find more into. I cant even find where it has been approved for the USA. I see it sold in Canada and England, but not here. I maybe have just not found it. I might even call my pharmacy and see what they can tell me.

Hi all, Ultram does nothing for my pain. Neither does Darvocet. The only thing that helps is Vicodin, and dr won't prescribe anymore. Says I was taking too many. Told me to take 1 every 4hrs for pain, so I took I every 4 hrs for pain,,, because I was going through a flare and needed it to function, so , he said I was taking too many and now won't prescribe... then don't prescribe them like that and I won't take that many.... I am just sick of it! Going through a bad flare now and no relief.. I wish dr could be in my body for 1 day and then I bet he would prescribe anyone with fibro vicodin as many as they needed!.... I guess just venting, Gretchen

I totally understand....I have tried everything...now I am taking oxycodone..it helps but not all the way...my Rheumatologist put me on oxycontin but I haven't taken that...I told her I didn't need something all the time just when I have a flare...so I have it put up in case I need it....So I just take the oxycodone when I need it....

Hugs,
Barb

Hi Barb, your lucky that your drs believe in your pain, my dr says that fibro is an "over exagerated" condition and he said that people come in his office and have a stiff neck for a week and claim fibro. I don't think I believe him. He says it is way over diagnosed and although he believes fibro exists, he does not believe it is as wide spread as a lot of drs think.. I think he justs need to feel our pain for a few min, and then make that determination... another thing, I have been diagnosed with osteo arthritis which is PROVEN with xrays, and still won't give me pain meds...... I think he's full of CRAP!{sorry, but he is} Gretchen

I understand...my Dr has done all the test and that is what it is....my Dr also stated that if your Dr doesn't know about it or doesn't want to accept it for what it is then it is time to find a new Dr. I called around the pain clinics and also the Rhumie clinics and asked for their advice on who they would choose a nd I found my Rhumie that way but I have had my PCP for years now that is who DX me....I hope you find some one that believes in you!! Don't stop till you do...
