MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Does anyone here having problems with your brain making up new words. One day I was trying to tell DH to get the "mayonnaise" out of the fridge and I told him to get the "Mamners" out of the fridge. I called the sugar dish a "pop-a-wadee"....these are words that make no sense at all.

The family tells me the only way they will ever know if I have a stroke or not, is that I will talk normal.

Not only that, but I say my words in the wrong order. I might say, " Please, sugar me the pass." I do it more when I am tired. My family just looks at me and I know I have said something wrong. I have to really concentrate. The other day I couldn't order what I wanted from the menu. Finally, my brother ordered it. I was so upset. Are you on Topamax. It really messed with my speach at first.

I just posted, in my diary, all about my fibro fog. I have it all the time, it's just a matter of how bad it is. It has been so bad that I've cried out of frustration. I can't find the right words, or like you said, they are jumbled. If you ever need someone to talk to about this, or anything, I'm here for you!

I will do that too or try to explain something and cant say the word even though I am thinking it in my head. And some days when I am typing I will totally mess up. Not just do the next letter over but put a z where there is supposed to be a l or something like that.

It is so blasted frustrating. Nowit's to the point where we laugh when some gibberish comes out of my mouth. Like BLB said you stand there and look stupid(which I might add, I do quite well thank you )

What is very very scary....my husband is beginning to understand what I'm trying to say.

Can you imagine if they had a Retirement home for just fibro people.

We would all be talking gibberish but understanding what each other said. Everytime we passed each other in the hall it would be like meeting for the first time. Course every night we would have a new room mate because we would get lost and forget which room was ours.

Oh what fun we could have.

mcbeth- That's SO funny! I can only imagine a retirement home for Fibros.

Everyone- hang in there. Fibro fog isn't fun. But it keeps everyone on their toes and guessing what we're saying and doing! Think of the funny aspect of it.

I dont write everything down. I forget where I put the book. the big problem with my memory is that I think about doing something, then I cant remember if I did it or just thought about doing it. I mess up more things that way.
