MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I will have to visit Amazon and see what kind of books I can find on the subject.

I try to be very careful about not using sugar. I use stevia instead but is a little pricey. I have also been trying to get mostly organic foods but again, a bit pricey. Why does it have to be expensive to be health!?

I had really hoped to have a nice garden when we moved. I edit a garden site so it seems like almost a requirement for me. lol Anyhow, no garden. Plants don't grow well in rock/coral for some reason. I also live in a stilt house and it is hard for me to go up and down the stairs. I have a bit of a jungle around me though, so I can pretend it's a garden but there is nothing in it to eat.

Many of the no-no's I am already careful about. Um, other than the coffee. The problem with having protein is finding non-animal sources that will actually satisfy me. Seems lately meat just turns me off. Vegetarian protein doesn't seem to do it for me though. I end up still hungry or with a headache. So I look for some meat and choke it down. Then I get a sick tummy. lol Can't win.

It might be easier if it were just me to shop for. It is hard to please everyone, isn't it?

It is interesting that there is a fibromyalgia cook book! I'll have to try and find it.

Kat, I try and eat as well as I can. I have used stavia, so know what you mean about the cost. Here is something for you to try. Spirulina, I get it as the health food store in powder form. if you would like to read up on it. I have a great book

Power Health With Spirilina--- Nature's Richest Whole Food

An EducationalGuide By Pure Planet Products, inc.

If you are not able to find it, let me know and I will ask my local health food store if they take online orders or see how I can help you gets some if you are truly interested. That goes for anyone else.

WHEAT and any products containing Wheat is a biggie for most fibro sufferes to avoid!

Cheap place to get Stevia is "Trader Joes" if you have one close by you.

yes I am still around, just not been feeling good & we are packing to move.

I have read that growing your own vegetables is better for you. That way you know what kind of chemicals are used on them. I know that it is hard for all of us to work in the garden anymore. so just try a few things in pots.
