New here--just saying hi. I have IBS and FM. Both new diagnosis in the last 6 months. I am Mom to 4 kids ages 15, 13, 12, and 8. Our 8 yr old son has special needs--adds to the stress ect. Any helpful suggestions on getting a better nights sleep, or dealing with FM and working and raising kids would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi

Were you prescribed any medication when you were given your diagnosis?

When I was dx with IBS I was prescribed Hyoscyamine... it is an anti-spasmodic. I also have Rozerem to take, as needed, for sleep and Mobic, an anti-inflammatory, for osteoarthritis.

Do your children understand what is going on with you? I bet they're having as hard a time adapting as you are. Hmmm, I don't have a lot of suggestions, but I'm sure others will be along and have some great advice.

I truly believe you will find this site to be helpful and populated by some very friendly folks We can be a bit silly at times...but I think you'll enjoy that as well!

Welcome to our little family, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I agree with my fellow fibromites you have found a great place to learn, vent and laugh or cry. I only have 2 of my 5 left at home and they're 16 an 17. Don't know if I could have handled fibro when the 5 of them were home,I think if you can get through even one day you deserve a great big WOW,
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.
