from all the research i have done, my answer to this is no, but i'm still not sure. what do you guys think? Is it prgressive? Will it one day cause me to lose my life?

I know this might be a scary topic, but i didn't want to raise it to my family.

It can be progressive, but is not life threatening.

I have wondered if it was progressive, I have read no, but I wondered about that.

thomasann, where did you hear that? I would like to print something out that say that.

No it is not life threatening, neither will it put you in a wheelchair (although there are days when walking is so hard that You might think it would be nice) however the symptoms do seem to progress with time.

ok i'm glad that everyone is on the same page with it being a life or death issue, but progressive? So one day it will get a lot worse than it is now? I'm interested in where you found that too Thomasann.

I agree, I think Fibro is progressive but I sure hope it isn't life threatening. Each day seems to be a little more painful than the day before and I really believe that (should I live long enough) I will eventually end up in a wheelchair unless somewhere along the way a new miracle drug will be found to help all of us. It is hard for me now to walk even a short distance because of the constant lower back pain and leg pains. I try to exercise but that only makes things worse. PT does that to me also.

Soft warm hugs to everyone.

Maggie

ugh, this is horrible. If it can't kill you though, how can it be progressive? Wouldn't it eventually develop to that point?..And i actually have my first PT appointment tonight, so i'm a bit worried. ALthough i don't think i get the pain like you guys, i just feel achy. My main problem, the one that concerns me, is my shortness of breath and rapid heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, i do get paain sometimes, like yesterday my left arm and elbow felt like it were broken, or i get pain in my neck, but thats the worst of it so far. Oh and the headachs, i hate those, especially after my shower.

MINE STARTED IN MY NECK THEN MY NECK AND ARMS AND SO ON ...I HAVE A FAST HEARTRATE AND PALPATATIONS. THE PAST FEW DAYS HAVE BEEN THE WORST FOR ME..ALL OVER PAIN..IT USED TO BE EITHER IN ONE PLACE OR THE OTHER..NOT ANYMORE...SO I CAN SEE WHERE IT MIGHT BE PROGRESSIVE BUT I DON'T KNOW..WISH I DID.
