I've been waiting two months almost to have my Chiro do this test on me. I just got back and I only have 6 of the 15 Tender Points. I went through 2 neurologists since October and NEITHER one of them did this test. Is this test just ONE diagnostic feature of FM or is this THE ONE that says you have FM? I think the reason I have these 6 is because I have major back/neck problems since I was 12 years old and am now 38. I have osteoarthritis and have bulging/herniated disks in both my back and neck. I don't know, what do you guys think? This last neuro diagnosed FM because of my history - that's it oh and because ALL of my testing came back normal with the exception of my cervical MRI.

I only tested on 9 of them the first time they tested and 7 the 2nd time, but they said I had fibro because of my symptoms. I question this diagnosis too, but I also realize that I don't have pain in all the spots at once since my pain migrates.

I started off originally with pain in my feet, back and legs. Now I have well over 18 tender points. Even have them on my head! My rhumy did test for all the spots before giving me the diagnosis and I had already had every other test imaginable to rule out anything else. I also have DDD in my back and raynauds in hands and feet plus some arthritis in back and neck. It hurts all over and the only thing I am on for pain is Mobic. I was on tramadol, but because of the antidepressant I am on I had to stop the tramadol.

I sometimes wonder which part is fibro and which is the arthritis or other things. I can definitely tell when it's my discs acting up in my back. My knees are really bad and I use both hands to goes up stairs, but the xrays show no arthritis in my knees, so must be the fibro. Atleast that's what the doctors say.I think it's even more confusing when you have other conditions along with the fibro. But my understanding is that you usually do not get just the fibro with out something else to go along with it.

RIGHT THAT'S PROBABLY IT..I DID READ THOUGH THAT MOST FIBRO PATIENTS DON'T HAVE ARTHRITIS WHICH OK MAYBE BUT I AGREE I DON'T THINK THAT IT'S JUST FIBRO I THINK THERE ARE OTHER THINGS GOING ON. BUT I DUNNO..I WISH THEY KNEW MORE ABOUT IT SO THAT WE COULD TO.

Christina,

Have they done blood work and MRI or xrays? Did they definatly rule out everything else? Have you been to a rhumelotogist?
