MDJunction to me

"I have been struggling with Fibromyalgia, Bipolar, Anxiety, Post traumatic Syndrome for quite some time and pretty much going it alone. I stumbled across MDJunction by accident. I stayed in the shadows and just watched for four days and then I joined, feeling relieved and excited to have found a safe place with alot of folks that I could relate to . It's proove to be medically and emotionally
helpful to me and now I can't go a day without coming in at least 4 or five times a day! I Love my family here.

You are a step in the right direction.

You're going to their doctor, right? Not their psychologist?

I've not been to one of their doctors. I did have to go to their psychologist. There's quite a bit of discussion on this site about disability and Fibro. You will see in the upper left hand corner of this page that you can select 'FMS Forums'. Select that and then read through those posts and you should find more about disability and Fibro.

If you don't have any success in finding info. feel free to send me a PM and I can let you know what I've "heard" others say about seeing their doctor. Or I can fill you in on my experience about seeing their psychologist.

When's your appt.? I wish you the best!

Going to their doc is definitely a step in the right direction. I had that option, where they wanted me to be evaluated by one of their doctors, BUT, I did not have $1000. to go see them because at the time we did not have insurance.

Anytime they want you to see THEIR doctor it means they have to consider you which is good, but their doctors are on their side. They will do anything they can to discredit you.I faced this when my husband and I filed a lawsuit after a car accident and my son faced it while he was on SSI after his father died and they changed the SSI to SSA but did determine that he was permanetly disabled and I didn't miss acheck there. However, our lawsuit dragged on for 4 years and was very ugly; my son lost his medicaid and had to wait 2 years for medicare even though they knew he had cancer(luckly in remission)and a number of psychiatric problems. On the positive side you have RA which is much more easily diagnosed than FM.WHen they send you to a psychitrist, proceed with caution.I have a friend who is a single mother who is fighting for custody of her son who was removed from the home after a police officer and a social worker showed up and took pictures of her house which was messy because as you know our pain and energy levels are zip. This was reported to CPS by her SS psychiatrist because as you know they ask a lot of questions on the application about your ability to perform daily tasks. So proceed with caution, and listen to the advice of others on this site.I hope this helps a little.
