Do a web search for service dog organizations in your state. There are several here in my state and the cost varies greatly from organization to organization. One site stated that the fee was $5,000...if you qualified for a grant. If you didn't the cost was $11,000 and greater....up to $38,000. On the other hand, I came across one organization that that said the service dogs were provided ABSOLUTELY FREE for qualified individuals. Their funding comes from business, charities and fundraisers. Another reason to go ahead a check around is there will most likely be a waiting list.
