saralaurie"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

It wasn t until I sat down here tonight and took a deep breath that I realized all I had done today and actually felt good all day.

My day started with coffee and checking here about 6:30 AM .

Three (3) loads of laundry and cleaning out dresser drawers for donations plus running the sweeper in 3 rooms and gave the dog a bath were all done by noon.

Quick shower and off to get my hair cut~~~

Stopped at grocery store to pick up a few things and then Dollar General for greeting cards to have on hand as needed.

3 PM when I got home ~~~ Stirred up a batch of ingredients for zucchini breads (2) and baked.

Fixed supper and mixed up second batch of zucchini breads (2)to bake while cleaning up kitchen and doing dishes.

That all done, hubby and I ventured next door to share a loaf of bread and visit a bit with neighbors (about an hour).

I pray that I feel just as good tomorrow but am definitely NOT going to do as much . Wink

If I had had this much energy all this week (vacation), I would have a clean house ...LOL !!!

Stacations can be fun but definitely remember you're on vacation and take some time to relax too!

Just reading all you did exhausted me. That and doing 5 loads at the laundromat today, then remaking the bed when I got home....it's time for melatonin and bed I thinks...

Okay ~~ it is now Friday ~~~ I am up and awake and trying to figure out how I really feel...LOL !!!

My legs were a little like jelly when I first tried to walk this morning but that is pretty normal.

It s cloudy and overcast (wish it would rain) here this AM so maybe (when I get dressed) I ll bake the final 2 zucchini breads.

Hubby has gone to spend the morning with a friend so maybe I ll just lounge and read a book .

Hmmmmm ~~~~ sounds good to me but you know what they say about ""best laid plans"" ....LOL !!!

I hope everyone has a beautiful and pain free Friday ~~~

Christine,

How was Shipshe ?

Did they have great stuff ?

Where did you stay ?

I have been there several times but never for overnight. I love it and seeing something different with the Amish.

I had intended to get there again this summer but if I don t do it soon, it won t happen and I m thinking it s the latter...Sad

Enjoy your book Marilyn! My favorite days are those overcast days when I can curl up on the couch with a book...

Rayne,

I have to say I totally agree with you ~~ as I get older, I love overcast, drizzly days to snuggle with a book in a favorite chair or even bake and cook all day.

Today started out that way (no rain just overcast and much cooler) so I spent 2 hours sitting on my park bench in the front yard with coffee and a good book. Smile

That must have recharged my batteries because until now I ve been very active again all day today ~~~

Oh Marilyn, God bless you! I hope the day comes for me that I have half the energy. I'm happy for you, I don't want you to pay for it though...slow down a bit.

Thank you , Connie ~~~

I guess I should re-phrase that ""active"" ~~~ I haven t accomplished a lot today but been busy...LOL !!!

After hubby returned from fishing this morning, we went into town and walked thru Menards' (home improvement store). I bought grandson some ghosts on stakes for his first Halloween in their new house and a small table-top CharBroil b-b-que grill for daughter (Christmas ~~~ she doesn t want a gas grill).

From there we went to a favorite hometown/home cooking restaurant for lunch.

Hubby is napping; I just finished 2 more zucchini breads and came here to take a break.

This ""good feeling"" is scaring me also ~~~ makes me wonder what s coming after I return to work on Sunday ~~~

BTW, how is your hubby feeling ?

Hi Marilyn!

Shipshe was great fun, but boy am I paying for it. It's really a bummer when you go and do something that is great fun and then you are down and out for several days. I am grateful that I am still able to do those things, but I have a problem with messaging in my body. You see, my mind tells me I want to keep doing everything I did when I was well, but the body says, no way!

My girlfriend and I go every year and we stay at the Country Inn and Suites. They have a beautiful hot breakfast as well as cold cereal, oatmeal, bagels, etc. They have a nice pool also but no jacuzzi. The Farmstead Inn across the street from the Flea Market is also a great place to stay. It is run by the amish and they have a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, nice rooms, but just cold prepackaged rolls that don't taste like they are homemade by the Amish. That was a big disappointment. The place is huge, so you have to be able to walk long distances. The grounds are beautiful and you can walk those also. I should warn you also that if you are a smoker or you drink alcohol, they make you sign a paper saying that if they catch you doing either, you will be kicked out and still be responsible for payment in full for your scheduled stay. I didn't have a problem with either of those, but like I said I was disappointed in the breakfast. I don't think I would stay there again because of that reason. It's nice to have a free wonderful breakfast included in the price of your room especially when you are diabetic like me and cannot or should not be eating sweet rolls for breakfast.

I didn't buy as much this year as I usually do because I rented an electric cart to ride because I am unable to walk and it cost me $10 per hour to rent that. Highway robbery if you ask me for disabled people!!

They had especially great prices (for the most part) this year. I don't know if it is because of the economy or because it is getting to the end of summer and they are trying to sell everything they have. I bought a sweatshirt, some aloe cream that is supposed to cure Lupus, Fibromyalgia, etc (LOL), but I bought it for the very dry itchy skin I have. I'm not expecting any miracles, BUT.....if it works, all of you should head for Indiana. (LOL) To tell you the truth, I haven't emptied my bag yet because I have been too tired. I bought some other things too, but nothing to get real excited about. Just things I could use at a much more reasonable price than you find it in a store around home.

Did you know they have something called Shipshewana on the road. My fibro fog tells me I don't remember where you live if you told me, but they go to many states and about 70 - 80 of the vendors go. I am planning on going to the one in Monroe, MI and maybe the one at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Michigan. If I take my hubby to a casino, he won't care how much money I spend. At least I am getting something for the money I spend right?? Most likely he will come out with nothing but having some fun himself.

Talk to you later and I hope you get a chance to get to Shipshe this year!

Hugs~

Christine
