Can anyone tell me how bad the pain in the hands are?

My right hand isnt so bad but the left one stays balled up into a fist until it loosens up at about 2:30 pm.

they hurt so bad and sometime i cant help but cry. i work at a job where typing is involved and its hard to do alot of the things i do one handed.

I have severe pain in my hands too. My right is worse, but I think it's because I am right handed and have a little arthritis there also. I also have Raynauds disease in hands and feet. I sometimes fill my hot water bottle and wrap my hand up in it for some relief. I can only write with a pen a few words at a time because of the pain it causes when I grip things and also have no strength in my arms and cannot lift either. I usually use a plastic cup to drink from as most glass ones are too heavy and will fall out of my hand.

Hey, my hands hurt alot too, but didn't realize alot of you out there have the same problem. When I went to my pain doctor yesterday, he suggested I go see a Rheumatologist as he suspects Rhuematoid arthritis!? Sure hope not. I remember how my Mom and some of my Aunts had RA and it can be a very painful condition. The problem with my hands is I cannot 'grip' things, I drop alot of items, the palm side of my hands are always bright red!! And I have constant pain around the base of my thumbs on both hands.

One really WEIRD thing happened to me last night. I fell asleep in the chair and when I woke up, my right hand was useless. I couldn't raise it up or stretch my fingers out. Nomatter what my brain told my hand to do....it couldn't do it. I started to get really, really scared cause it acted like I had had a stroke!!! Scared the bejesus outta me. Now when I woke up from bed this morning, it is a little better, but not totally back to normal. Will see what other surprises come my way today.

My hands don't pain as much as when I wake in the mornings sometimes my fingers are swollen and stiff. I do have a pain that shoots through my right wrist tho when I go to pick up things or turn the door knob but I have arthritis so I assume that is the cause of the pain.
