So last night I was at choir practice. Went had just finished and I was walking out with on eof my friends and all of a sudden I fall to the floor. My legs had just given out. I didn't move immediately, I was too nervous and shocked. Slowly my knees started to hurt and then the pain began spreading. Now my legs are super stiff and I can't bend my knees. The pain is from the hips down. It has happened once before and it went away in a few hours, but it isn't letting up this time.

Has this happened to any of you??

This happened to my sister several times (she also has Fibro).

When she talked with her Dr about it, he told her it was because she wasn't getting enough movement. That for this to stop she would HAVE to start doing some sort of weekly if not daily exercising.

She started with gentle stretches, then small walks around the block - it was a small block. THen eventually she started water exercise therapy.

It has really helped her a lot!!! NOt only does she no longer fall but her pain is much better as well.

I received a good book as a Christmas present:

The stress-free way to stay supple , keep fit and exercise safely. Suzanne Martin PT ,DPT Stretching. It has all kinds of stretching movements in it starting with a three week warm up for peoople like us who haven't done any formal exercising and going on to more stressful stretching. It has posuring exercises and suggestions for long rides as well as long walks. I have found this very helpful on my more ambitious days. It is only $15.00 so not so costly either.

I didnt contact my doctor last time, but I have an appointment now to see my rhummy on Friday. I exercise daily, and on my better days have a formal workout at the gym. I do Yoga and Pilates and also stretches my physical therapist taught me. Moving isn't my problem. Plus being in school I have class changes, which in an overcrowded high school can get pretty intense. lol

I see my angel of a pt tomorrow and my amazing rhummy Friday. So hopefully they can fix me. Keep any ideas you have coming. You guys are AWESOME!!!
