I'm just wondering how many of us have suffered from chronic general anxiety disorder, panic attacks, agorophobia, social phobia or constant worry about everything before being diagnosed with fibro? I'm sure I can't be the only one...

I've had high anxiety levels and major panic attacks since I was a teenager and they just kept getting worse into my twenties till I had to be put on meds -- benzos -- to function and be able to sleep.

All of my life I have seemed to release high amounts of adrenalin inappropriate to the situation...EVERYTHING made me jump! The sound of a telephone in a quiet room...a door opening unexpectedly...and my entire body would be flooded with adrenalin, my arms and legs with a "heavy" feeling and my heart pounding. Very unpleasant but I could not control it.

Just waiting in a doctor's waiting room would make my palms sweat, my heart pound, knees weak, unable to think or concentrate, and overcome with fear.

I'm thinking maybe there was something wrong with my central nervous system all along because I am wired to be so high strung and sensitive to everything, and maybe this somehow lead to the fibro. It seems that everything is tied in to neurotransmitter levels in the brain and central nervous system, and mine were always out of balance. Depression too....since age 18.

Just wondering if anyone else had these issues too?

I was alway a "bundle of nerves" as long as I can remember. Then in my 30's I started having panic attacks and agorophobia. Then in my 40's I was diagnosed with Fibro.
