I need to know if the sun bothers anyone else. I was outside enjoying the 70's and planning my garden and my skin got red and started to itch. I figured if someone else had this problem then I would write it off as another symtom of fibro. Last summer I had no problem and was on the same meds. I really would hate not being able to go outside alot since I try to live outside with the dogs and yard, etc. Thanks. jean

I have it too sometimes, Jean. But I have always been sun sensitive. Tho it has worsened. I do believe that fibro can give you rashes and skin problems. I get red patches that look like they are blood blisters and then they go away a few hours later. This I did not have before the fibro. Don't know that i have been any help.

You've been alot of help I will just be more aware and wear my sunscreen and hat instead of trying to be a sunbabe. I should do that anyway since I live in Colorado and we are so close to the sun I too get the red patches that look the bruises my mom and aunt get when they get bruised. I really can't think of anything that will really keep me out of the yard and water with the dogs and grandkids. Just chalk it up to the fibro and be alittle more careful. Jean

The sun has bothered me for years. The sun, with added heat and humidity makes it a "lot" worse. I always knocked off as a Lupus symptom. But I suppose it could be from Lupus....? Maybe?

Good question!

Teri,

It could be the meds i know some make you more sun sensitive but watch the headaches only because I worry about dehydration or sun stroke which I think might cause an upset stomach also. I guess that i have just become alittle more cautious since I have been trying to get by with as little drugs as I can. I don't get the headaches unless I'm out for long periods of time in the direct sunlight that is why i think of dehydration at those times, but today i was only out for about 30 minutes and now i have red like welts on my arms plus I scratched myself because of the itching. good thing my days of trying to impress people is gone, they have to take me as I am. I get the red blothes also, but have tested negative for Lupus. Good luck finding out if you do tell me please.
