I wanted to tell eveyone about a telephone call I just had. A few weeks ago, Scott and I went to an open house for a new development of townhouses. They were like a gated community and we felt this would be easier since Scott has had to take over so much of the inside responsibilities, he would have less outside responsibilities. (At this time we didn't know my dosability would be turned down. Anyway, we had talked to the realator about fibromyalgia and how the steps were a drawback. I was having a very bad day that day. (actually that is how we ended up there, Scott took me for a ride to get an icecream, because I was upset because I was hurting so much).

She called me today because I had been on her mind and she wanted to talk to me. She asked me about fibro and she wrote down the name so she could look it up later. She said that she had went to the board of dirctors for the townhouses and told them that they had not made any arrangements for disabled people in the development. She also informed tham that maybe there should be a set of townhouses built for people like me that had difficulty with stairs. She wanted my imput in what else I thought should be changed to better accomidate fibro and other disabled people. I was really impressed. First that she would even remember me because it has been at least 6 weeks and second that she would care so much about someone she doesn't know.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, that we are being heard. It may be one voice at a time, but it is working. I hope soon the judges of SSD will not snuff out the idea of fibromyalgia disability and we will not go broke trying to survive until they realize we are in pain.

KEEP IT UP FELLOW FIBROMITES
