Hi Foxy,

I think them sending you to someone else is a good sign that they want to help you.My primary doc suspected fibro, so did the nurologist, but I had to go to a rhumetologist for the official diagnosis and treatment.

I think sometimes they are searching for ways to help us and one doesn't have all the answers. Actually, I don't think anyone has all the answers. Maybe a few years down the road, someone will come up with something. All we can do is hope, pray and be there for each other.

Ok so my doctor deserves more than a one. She needs to communicate better though.

I just got off the phone with the receptionist and it turns out that my doctor already diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and that she is sending me to the pain clinic as a sort of second opinion! I had no idea I had been diagnosed lol. I asked the receptionist if I had to go to the rhuematologist to be diagnosed and she said no that a primary care physician can make the diagnosis.

I feel truelly relieved and feel like I owe my doctor an apology.

If you have applied for SSDI, they accept the rhumetologist opinion more so than a regular doc. That's what I was told anyway. I have never been sent to a pain doc. So I am not sure exactly what they are for.

Yeah I think it has to be diagnosed by a rhuematologist for SSDI. I will be going to a rhuematologist but not sure what the hold up is.

The pain management clinic can diagnose and treat fibromyalgia pain.I have been in a tremendous amount of pain for quit some time so I think thats why she was more concerend about getting me in to a pain specialist. I think they are waiting for medicaid to give them the ok for the rhuematologist.

I can't tell the amount of reliefe I feel to know someone is finally going to be able to help me.

I certainly hope so Cadburry. I found here in colorado that all the rhuemelologist took forever to get an appointment/ I was looking at 3 months. Then my regular doc found one for me and I got an appointment within a week. Good luck with your pain doc.

I love my doctors. All I have to do is tell them what is going on and they are looking for meds or a reason for the problem.

I have a lot of doctors, and I think that they are all good doctors, but I did not hit it off well with the neurologist, and I do not like him personally. My SS atty, said that the neurologist gets sued a lot. I just went to another neurologist. But I think that my doctors a pretty good. I'll put them in a doctor pile and give them all an 8

I personally have no doctors I could ever recomend to even my worst enemy. I was sexually abused by a gyno many years ago and can't trust ANY male Dr., though due to my CRAPPY insurance, I have no choice. I have found that my complaints are dismissed as hormones or I'm labelled as a drug seeker. I'm in a horrible dilemma now because of an insensitive A..h... who decided he no longer treats fibro then referred me to a pain clinic that dosent take my insurance. I'm happy for, (but a little jelous) when someone finds a good one.
