I was on a gluten free diet for almost a year, because I was having problems with my stomach. My Gastroenterologist thought I might be gluten intolerant. It's a diet one must aquire.

I just wanted to throw in my knowledge of the gluten free diet.

My mom has had stomach and hip pain problems for years, as long as i can remember. The doctors tested her for everything, and everything came back negative. So then they said maybe its your gal bladder, so they took that out, and it didn't help. So they finally said that even tho they tested her for ciliac (gluten intolerance) disease and it came back negative, that the blood test doesn't always show and that she probably has it. So she was put on the gluten free diet.

She was on the diet for 3 years. I wouldn't wish that diet on my worst enemy! not only can you not just have wheat products but gluten is in everything from ketchup and mustard to canned vegetables, soups... pretty much anything processed has gluten in it, even french fries and potato products have flour on or in them. You can buy special gluten free foods but they are EXPENSIVE, and they DO NOT taste very good! She felt better for a while but then she started losing weight (shes only 100lbs to start!) and her pain and stomach problems came back even worse. she had to stay home for an hour after every time she ate so she could be near a bathroom. She finally went to see a specialist and they did an EKG to see if she actually had it, and it turns out she doesn't, so for the last 3 years shes been eating nothing! Ive never seen some one so happy to eat a McDonald's cheeseburger!!

Ok that was a lot of rambling, but hopefully you got something out of it

Yep, pretty much. My mom had these gluten free crackers and they were horrible! So there were some ducks in my back yard and my mom said o we'll just feed them to the ducks, so we threw them out side, the ducks put them in there mouths, chewed a little, spit them out and left my yard!!!

Ha ha ha! Thats funny about the ducks. I'm so glad to hear your mom didn't have to spend the rest of her life eating that crap!

I just came across something where they said a glutin free diet makes all Fibro symptoms go away and thought I would ask. I'm glad I didn't waste any money on this crap!
