Have you tried Apple Cider Vinegar? It helps with muscle aches a bit.

Mix 1T w/ 1/4t baking soda and about an ounce of water. Drink it down like a "shot" 2-3 x day. The baking soda neutralizes the acid in the vinegar and it doesn't taste too bad. It's not hydrocodone, but it's the best I can do for now.

No I haven't heard that one, I will have to try it. Do you now if it will bother a very bad case of acid reflux, I'm on a prescription for that too.

I'm 15 years old and have tried: Darvocets, Hydrocodone, Vicadin, Flexeril, Zanaflez, Aleve, Ibprofen, Pergogesic, and Prednisone. None of these have worked for me. I'm not even affected by the narcotics. Well, a little with the Vicadin, but with most of them I function normally. Don't take steroids because they make Fibro worse. Some many of my doctors have told me that and apologized for giving it to me in the past. My best advice is to find a doctor who will give you what you need. Feel free to PM me any time. I'm here for ya!

Whoa Lilly, if it were me I would fire that pain doctor. If you're like the rest of us we have seen so many doctors that making another switch is a piece of cake.............I do believe the "secret" to managing this illness is to find a good doc. Life is already too short to waste months with someone who doesn't understand and doesn't give 100% of their efforts to helping you with the fibro so you can get back to living.

i have a good gp she tries to help with my pain. the problem is that you can't get diloded unless you are in the hospital. boy do i wish i could most of the time. i take vicoden and it makes it more tolerable but i am always in pain. i go to my first pain doc in two weeks. hopefully they can come up with something.

good luck and don't forget pain is pain and we have a right to relief

I know what you are going through. my primary dr said I didn't need pain meds because the lyrica I was taking is for the pain, so I demanded further testing and I was sent to a rheumy that prescribes me vicodin. I wish you all the luck. I know how miserable you are feeling.

Wouldn't it be nice to have one of those PCA pumps like you have after surgery in the hospital. They are patient control analgesia pumps. When you have pain, you just push the button. If it is too soon for you next dose it will not administer it. It has a lock and key so you cannot adjust you settings. The downfall is you do have to have an IV. But we are all smart. I think we could take care of our own IV and home health care could check and change it every three days as required or we could go to our primaries or the RD. We sometimes end up there trying to get help for our pain anyway. And just for those who have a disability case out there. I was penalized for not going to the ED and the clinic enough for pain. I managed my pain on my own by my doctors and pain mgt and my meds and was punished. Go to the hospital. Put your pain on record. At least that is what he wanted in my case. I guess you just add the co-pays to you bankruptcy's. Okay, enough venting it is way to early.-------
