Hi to all of my old friends and hope to make some new. I going this group several months ago and have neglected to write because of illness, the flue, pneumonia and terrible flare-ups from the fibro. Both of my knees were so inflammed that I couldn't pull myself out of a chair or off of the toilet (sorry. Had terrible trouble walking but made it somehow. Last Thursday the 3rd. I gor fired! There is no other word for it but fired. You can fancy it up with word like "let go", suspended and I'm sure many others but I didn't deserve it, but it's over and done. It's really hard to get out of bed when there is no place to go. My so-called boss attempted to fire me through my husband, not me. He called hubby and told him that I was forgetting things, couldn't focus and wasn't getting along with co-workers. He told me after he found out that my husband didn't tell me but was attempting too, that he was just making changes and I didn't fit in. What a jackass. I'm just getting over pneumonia and missed one day, have two inflammed knees and never missed a day. I do have troulbe focusing, I do forget and the spelling is gone. I atribute all of this to the fibro, which he knew I had. Everyone says I'm better off not being there. I had to walk about 350 feet to the restroom, summer or winter. There was not heat except my space heater and no water. I may be bette off but that doesn't pay the bills. Both my GP and RA diagnosed me with fibro, which is a good thing (not the fibro-the diagnosis)I'm just so hurt that anyone could do this to another human being. I owned my own business for ten years and never treated my employees like this. Sorry for venting, but I have to make the hurt and depression go away. Thanks for listening.......Taz

Taz, I'm so sorry you were treated like that. I know you don't know me but I hope that things will look up for you soon. Maybe something even better is due to come your way.

Hang in there Taz. You probably are better off not being there. Some management people are real asses/ There is no other way to put it. But forget about it as much as you can for now and go put your feet up and REST>

Taz, go directly to your unemployment office and file a claim. You should be entitled to it. I got fired from a job that I only had for 3 weeks, and I filed and got unemployment because I had quit a job to take that one. It will not hurt to try. Your former employer will need to justify why they fired you. When you go, just tell them you dont know why you got fired.

Oh and I am sorry to hear you were.

I am sorry Taz...I know how it hurts to be "downsized" "let go" "indefinitely suspended" and all of those sugar coating words that mean fired.

I haven't worked in two years since my boss fired me by phone voice mail!

I was sick as a dog that day and couldn't come into the office. It was a day she was out on the road and I couldn't get hold of her to call off.

She left a loud and lengthy message on my answering machine yelling at me and telling me not to bother to come in again because I had called off too much and was too unreliable. This came just a couple of weeks after she told me how pleased she was with my work. I burst into tears, then I had fantasies of blowing up her car with her in it (awful, I know!).

It was a horrible way to end a job that I had truly enjoyed and up until then had got along well with the boss -- or so I thought.

I have to say that losing that job got rid of a lot of stress and in the long run worked out the best for my health....but...I hate the way I was fired and the animosity from this boss. I would have preferred to be the one to leave and on my own terms!

I hope you are able to collect unemployment. Please don't be too hard on yourself. The economy is terrible right now and I believe that everyone who works anywhere is vulnerable and no one is safe these days!

We are all here for you...

Taz,

Sorry to hear that but everything happens for a reason I think...Maybe it was time for you to have a change and try something new...I know how the new thing works...I just started a new job after working at one place for over 10 years....it takes a lot of getting use to the new people and surroundings but it is all good and I am so glad I did it because the company I left is going under now...so who knows...maybe someone up stairs is helping you along...that is the way I saw it...there were rummors of a buy out and this was last year...I was trying to hang on because I had so many years in but with all the stress of not knowing if I was going to have a job or not that is when all this crap with my health came in...I was Dx with Fibro in Sept 07 during all this....so I am glad I changed jobs even though I am more busy at work now I am getting paid better and I like the people I work for...I also get better benefits....I wish you all the luck in the world...take some time for you then get out there...all is good!!

Hugs,
Barb

Thanks all for responding so quick. I too quit a job to take this one and I really don't know why I was canned. My ex-boss told my husband but that's not telling me. I also think that I am better off without that job but it still hurts....the ex-boss had already filled my position before I got fired. I filed for unemployment the next day. I dare him to contest it.

I know too much and OSHA can get involved anytime now. That place is a health hazard to all who come in contact

there. I'll get better soon but for now I'm gonna rest....TAZ

Dear Taz- I didn't get fired but I know I was being pushed out of my job 6 months ago so I resigned. They said I was taking too much sick time when in fact my sick time was about the same in comparison to other employees. I was going thru a flareup and was taking some time just to see my doctor for the most part.

I know it is a terrible feeling. They knew I had fibro and even so I was a really hard worker. I- like you- had some problems with detail but I have NEVER had an employer say I was a bad worker.

Even though this is probably for the best- I know it doesn't feel that way. It will take a while for you to move on even if they were idiots! I'm so sorry but the stress people like that bring to a job sure isn't the best for your health.

I'm just starting to because I too felt so hurt. Collect your unemployment and hopefully you will land something better suited for you.

Taz,

How are things going? Did you get your unemployment? Did you also file for SSD? You have proof through your dumbass employer of things you can no longer do that will help your SSD case as well. I know we'd all rather work, sometimes it's not feasible. I hope things are looking up for you and wish you only the best!

Pamela {please}

I wish tons of love and hugs!
