Welcome ilvmikds00! I'm Jenni. I'm glad you decided to join us. I think this is a group of fine people. You'll find support and times when you'll give support. When were you diagnosed? I've been told by several doctors that diet has no effect on Fibro. "They" really don't know the cause of Fibro so I don't understand how they can discount the diet. Again, glad you're with us!

My disabling chronic illness is more real than your imaginary medical expertise.

[b]Hi and Welcome! I'm also new! My doctor took me off all artificial sweeteners, white sugar, white flour... He did say to use natural sugar you can buy at Wal-mart (light brown crystals) also can use honey to sweeten things. He wanted me to use wheat flour instead of white flour. Eat brown rice instead of white rice----eat a lot of veggies and fruits. Drink a lot of water! I hope this helps.

As pain is a response to inflammation ensuring your body has as many anti-inflammatory as possible will enable it to deal will pain/inflammation more effectively.

Almost everyone nowadays is Vitamin D3 insufficient as food sources of Vit d cannot supply sufficient and most people are afraid to spend sufficient time in the sun to acquire sufficient.

4000-5000iu daily will raise your status sufficiently to the level associated with the lowest cancer incidence. 137.5nmol/L (slide 33) There is another talk by Vieth at the same site which explains why this is an absolutely safe daily amount.

You may find this article wort reading but I think you have to understand your body works best with 4grams of omega 3 (total of EPA+DHA content of fish oil capsules) daily. Ground Flaxseed is one of the cheapest easiest ways of adding a lot of omega 3 to your diet.

Improving your Magnesium status also helps with fibromyalgia. Magnesium food-sources makes the point that magnesium is water soluble so eating your greens in salad ensures you get all the magnesium content and steaming is a better option that boiling your veg. (magnesium is water soluble and will be in the cooking liquor that you drain off) Only eating WHOLEGRAIN products rather than refined foods keeps your magnesium status high.

Do also give yourself plenty of time to accustomed to the flavour of Green Tea. Green tea is anti-inflammatory.If you make this your main beverage drinking perhaps 3-6 cups daily you will enable your body to fight the war against inflammation whereas if you drink a coke that many times daily you are promoting inflammation by adding fuel to the fire.

Hi, I'm told to avoid asparteme. It turns into an embombing fluid with the acids in your stomach. (king of disgusting eh?) I was also told exactly what Honey was told, and to add yogurt to your diet for the acidipholis. This adds somethingin your system that helps your muscles repair. Hope this helps and welcome

Aspartame Letter to FDA

Aspartame Letter to Food Products Association

Certainly probiotics are worth adding to the diet and I'm sure you can all guess the reason?

Anti-inflammatory effects of probiotic yogurt in inflammatory bowel disease patients The more ANTI INFLAMMATORY agents you consume during the day the more weapons your body will have to fight the sources of pain. But this is a long term strategy and you have to take the long view. I make my own yogurt and kefir so use both daily, it's cheap and easy and because I don't add sugar or aspartame or other additives far better than many from the supermarket.

More reasons for everyone,particularly children, to totally avoid Aspartame

Your initial question was about diet and not about supplements. Apart from Vitamin D3 which is best obtained free from sunlight (Cholecalciferol at effective strength ie 2000iu/daily minimum is an alternative) all other vitamins/minerals are BEST absorbed from food sources.

Boswellic Acid is an anti inflammatory agent so is probably useful

Yes, my question is still about the best diet. After reading your first reply though, I decided to see how I could obtain some of those things listed by supplements, as I don't always have the time to eat healthy. {I have three teens, 1 senior and 2 juniors.}

Also, being in the sun is out of the question, for vitamin D. I have a severe allergic reaction that requires a shot if i am in the sun more than a couple of min. I have found your postings very informative and helpful, thanks again.
