Yes, I am interested in finding and reading that thread on differences in Fibro and Myofascial.

Yes, I also think it's good comparing things that are the same with us so we can ask the Docs and they can find out more which may end up helping treatment for us in the future.

I have no medical or dental coverage, so everything ouches my pocketbook. Maybe if they recognize ALL the different things affected by Fibro, more would be covered for those who are fortunate enough to have insurance.

What does the Dental Gum do? I have not heard of/tried Dental Gum before. Is it in the toothpaste row?

Pamela {please}

I wish tons of love and hugs!

well - like a few of us mentioned the sensitivity (nerve exposed) is easier to deal w/than the TMJ, and breaking teeth. I had to see a specialist for a root canal - i have no reaction - zip-nadah - to Novocain and he said that 11% of the population doesn't -- I wonder if any of that is connected? also if you have some insurance -- and you need some more basic treatment -- cleaning etc... ask for "children's" cleaning -- or at BARE minimum see if they offer COST effective add'l gas, etc...and get the code on the phone first to see how much and what -if any - is reimursable...

I will look right now for the link --

Dental Gum is the name of the wax that people use with braces. I use it to cover the broken part of my tooth. That way when I am eating or drinking something, nothing hits the exposed nurve. I have to becareful not to swallow it. kind of like temp filling, only out of wax.

not sure if I am making any sence. I took pain meds a bit ago and they are working somewhat.

Ok I understand, thanks!

I didn't realize they would do a lesser charged cleaning and maintenance. Unfortunately though I am past that. Too many crumble teeth at the gumline and all over. Will keep it in mind though for future use!!

as discussed LISTING OF ADD'L SYPMTOMS THAT PRESENT w/FMS and CMP..

I know there are many here with FMS, CMP or both.I have severe CMP, hypermobility and soup o other nureo/muscle issues.

Fibromyalgia (FMS) and Chronic Myofascial Pain (CMP)

For Doctors and Other Health Care Providers with Devin Starlanyl

Symptom List and Possible Causes

http://www.sover.net/~devstar/phsympt.htm

It isn’t unusual to have both TrPs and FMS contributing to one symptom — sometimes with the addition of reactive hypoglycemia (RHG) or insulin resistance (IR). Some of your symptoms may be caused by the side effects of medications. There are other medical conditions that can cause some of these symptoms as well. This guide will, however, indicate whether there is a pattern to your symptoms. For example, if you have three symptoms indicating possible TrPs, you have a great likelihood of having other symptoms also caused by TrPs and a good possibility of having chronic myofascial pain. Visual locations of TrPs and their reference zones can be seen in the video "Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome: The Trigger Point Guide"

Hey Pamela and anyone else with the nerve exposed -- like i said - i see a special dentist because i can't get numb (but insurance doesn't touch the add'l sedative to go under for a cavity - so when i am under i make him do EVERYTHING)

If you can tolerate run-o-mill cavities getting filled - regarding the senstive ridge near gum line showing -- my dentist/md told me that you can fill that area just like they fill a cavity BUT no drilling (i think)....

My dentist wants me to have gum surgery (4 areas, $10,000). Thats out of the question for me. I need to get my teeth claaned every 3 mos because of "thick saliva" and need novacaine just for that. They say the frequent cleanings will save my teeth but I've lost one already.

I have had to have 2 teeth in the back pulled a long time ago,(15 yrs ago..) I would have had them fixed but no dental ins at the time and pulling them is cheap. Anyway, when I finally got dental, I had all mine fixed, root canals, all my fillings replaced, my front teeth capped with a special polymer because I was grinding the heck out of them, and more. Hopefully I am in good shape for a while... Hopefully.

I am sorry about your teeth. Please focus on that which is important. I know that makes me seem like a putz but still..

Amazing....Teeth are VERY improtant for eating a proper diet. proper dental hygine is important to overall health. Dental decay can also cause other health conditions or be a sign of something serious.

Besides those facts, this thread is OBVIOUSLY quite popular.
