I know that fibro and lupas mimik each other. But the doc. says i have a positive ANA, That doesnt mean I have lupus, but it makes me wonder.I have had the lupus question hanging over me for several years. Also My pain in muscals and joints dont seem to hurt as bad as in the past. there is tsill pain but it really seems to be less. exept for my feet and toes. witch sometimes feels like they are going to fall off. The symptoms I am having now seem to be more of the comfussion and overwhelmed kind to the balance and stumbley kind. also I have alot of fatigue.

Does anyone else seem to have the question of lupus over there head? Im glad I can ask these questions with out being judged. thank you!!

I was diagnosed with lupus from the ANA/DNA blood test many years ago. A year ago I was diagnosed with the fibro from my tender points and TMJ problems. The symptoms are similar but lupus treatments can be nasty. Fibro seems to affect day to day activity more.

Yea, I go again for blood work on the 9th. I went to a rumatologist in L.R. and she scared me to death. She told me it was eather fibro or RA, of course I left there feeling like I had no hope. Then i got a second oppinion. He told me after blood work and a exam. That he didnt see any sign of lupus. He said fibro. witch several years ago I was told i had fibro after they dismissed lupus.

Don't you start to feel like a giant pincushion? There are a few different types of lupus, some can be just a rash while others can cause organ failure. Even if you do have it, it might not be the "bad" kind. 10 % of the population has positive ana, though less than 1% get autoimmune problems. If you havnt been tested for lyme yet, you should. Best of luck to you. I know what you're going through.

I was diagnosed years ago with Lupus. (Check out my profile, I talk a little about it there.)

My bloodwork still shows that I am possitive for Lupus. But my symptoms, well, they seem to be more on the Fibro side. And I can honestly say, that compared to how my mother was...well, I am not nearly as ill as she was.

If you ever want to talk more about it, feel free to send me a PM. We can share more about labs and symptoms then, if you'd like.

I'm so glad you're here with us though. Everyone here is so wonderful and supportive. No matter what it is we have. This is a great group.
