I know, it is ridiculous and here we go (USA) helping everyone else (other countries) when they should be helping us!! I hate to hear you are losing your ins. I havent had it now for a year so I understand. There are times I have wanted to go to a doctor and a few times I am sure I needed to go to ER but I just dont want to get into debt.

Isn't that the truth! It does not matter that much if we have the latest greatest medical kung fu if no one can afford it. In my pursuit for an answer to what ails me, I have encountered nearly $50,000. in debt of no fault of my own. I will pay what I can but the rest will have to be filed under Chapter 7. I have already paid the attorney her retainer.

The economic irony is this: we the American people are already paying for this failed system. For those that can not pay, the hospital raises its prices to cover its expenses.

There is no reason that someone should loose there home because they get sick.

Call your representative! Tell them you want universal health care, because out constitution says that we have the right to life.

R.

I know this sounds horrible, but I told my husband I was going to look into divorce just in case he needs to save his 1/2 of the house. I cant save mine b/c MA is a comunal property state. That way I could qualify for medicare. I cant let my health be the reason we lose everything. Does this make sense to anyone?

Damn. That's tough. The problem is that you promised God and everyone that you would stay together until death you do part.

Tough as it is, you really need to keep your promises -- especially of this magnitude.

Find another way.

I think God would understand. It would just be on paper, not in my heart. We still love each other. He just cant afford me, so I'd let the state pay.

Life is full of tests. But this is not one that God would be a party to. Keep your vows.

i don't know psk -- i love my husband but we have nearly bankrupted oursleves to address my health. I have sucked up so much of his money between my biz and my healht -- in act we got married 5 yrs ago and the worst of pain escalted was 4 yrs ago. I would don anything to help unburden my husband if i could. On the other hand -- i beleive so much in "for better or for worse" that part of me gets what they are saying and the other part of me gets the "it's on paper" piece. I think it is probably wise to step back and if you can pray -- ask for another solution and that you are in a place where you will see it and find peace and relief.
