Sandi,

This is a horrible injustice! I wish that judge could live one day in your shoes..... He would grant your disability faster than he could uncap the pen to sign the papers!

Suffering daily with what you have to suffer with and dealing with the losses that you have suffered.... for them to twist them and use that against you..... how could they???? What is wrong with this system????

Sandi, I miss and I am worried about you! You are in my thoughts and prayers...... Amanda

We are all soldiers in this battle to reclaim our lives from the beast within!

This makes me so mad. I know of two people (actually I know them very well) who got SSI and ther really is nothing wrong with them. Then there's people like you, Sandi, who really need it and get denied. Hang in there and don't give up.

zakroo is right. to get approved you have to have several diseases, not knowing which are accectible, and which are not, but I heard this from from someone who used to work for SS. They can deny you deny you because how you look. It is a very unfair suys that is in place. I know where you are coming from because I was denied also. The docs they picks barely spent anytime with me. I felt I would I would have a better chance with a broken hip.

I don't pray, but I will be thinking about you in your time of need. Take care, and remember, things will go on. Where they will go, I'm not sure.

APPEAL AGAIN> This was your first appeal hearing, right? You can appeal again. Please get a good attorney. It's worth the 25% if they can get it for you. DO NOT give up the fight. That's what they want.Tami

Reading posts from everyone, I consider myself "extremely" lucky to have gotten approved for SSI, but it was a long, frustrating, nerve racking 4+ yr process. I, if I may...and I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but I just have to say it. When I was going thru the system, I lived in Detroit !!! When I would have to go downtown (which was scary enough)to see the 'systems doctors', the waiting room was "Full" of people and their 19 kids trying to 'work' the system. They didn't limp, stutter, look sick, etc! But Fibbies look fine too on the outside. These gov't doctors took me in a room and this #$%^& doctor had me bending over to touch my toes, make me walk a straight line, and one time the doc touched one of my trigger points, and after a quick loud yell, I thought my hubby was going to break her hands for hurting me. Then U go and see the shrink. Is the sky blue? R U depressed? How many hrs dly do U watch TV? Every ?? was carefully written down, and you really have to watch every response you make!!!! I can't stress this enough. IF you can watch TV for say...6-8 hrs a day, then to them, that means U can sit in a chair - be sedetary and perform a job! I know thats not right, but thats the gov't way.

U need a lawyer to decyfer exactly what the catch is between each question. Yes, it is frustrating, but again..don't get mad at me, but there are soooo many people that just want to sit at home and get paid for it by the gov't, so they have to 'weed out' all the 'fakers'. Just like an example I witnessed while in Detroit..some people pop out babies like an easy bake oven, just so they can get more welfare. Thankfully MI chg'd their rules to where you don't just sit home and eat bon-bons, drive your Cadillac to the store 2 buy food with food stamps and get free ins from Medicaid.

I unfortunately had to be struck with Marfans Syndrome and Addison's Disease, + Fibro illnesses. I had a great job, happy family, etc and then one day it was all gone. But I had worked long enough to acquire '85 points' which was the magic # needed that also was a requirement for my SSI.

The gov't doctors only had a small part in the accept/deny process. I had 2 get depositions from my doctors, specialists, every single test result, hubby had to fill out forms also telling 'his' side of my story. Yes, he helped me bathe, Yes he did the housework and all cooking, yes he had to do all yardwork. And Yes I didn't drive, and on and on! It was endless!

Here I am ranting on..sorry about that. I just remember the process and the BS involved, and I feel for all of you that are going through the process. I thankfully had a friend who was a lawyer and he researched for hours and days on getting disability approval. Your lawyer has to KNOW what 'conditions' are on the 'approved list'. If he does NOT know..find another lawyer. The lawyer should know very well how the paperwork and answers need to be phrased! Check 2 see if they have won other SSI cases, etc. Experience is everything. And they don't get paid till YOU get approval.

I encourage anyone that would like to ask me questions to email me, and I'll be more than happy to try and help you. Thanks 4 listening to me rant a bit! Keep your chins up as best as possible.

Your so very welcome Mamanordy. I want to reach out to all of you ~ I am so passionate about this SSI process. But you can never give up. You will automatically get denied your first 3 appeals, but then when you go in front of the 'federal judge', thats the one that counts. BUT...its again..all on how you answer the questions on the forms they send you to fill out. When you are in "that" stage of things, I'll help anyone out!

I got my original denial, then a review that was denied. Then they tried an on record review when I first got assigned to a judge and denied it again saying not enough evidence,, so I am now waiting for a hearing date. I have an attorney that has lost one case in 20 years, and his client gave up on that case. I too am so fed up with this system and the way they treat people.I am still praying that Sandi finds the strength to get a good lawyer and appeal, appeal, appeal.

when I was filling for my SS. I was denied the first time and then I tried going back to work. I worked less than 6 months and could not do it. Then I moved to Fl. I was told to get a lawyer. I did all then and one of the things that I was told helped me, what that I had what they called "failed attempted to return to work". I am not saying that this is what anyone needs to do. I am just letting you know what they said in my case.
