Hey all,

Wanted to update you about what happened at my dr appt today. I told him about the ultram not working, and that i couldnt sleep for anything. I told him my legs feel like they are absolutely ON FIRE in the morning when I wake up, and my arms hurt so bad i want to cry at night.

I should mention that I also have Cerebral Palsy. Its mild, but it affects my right arm and leg. I have a limp and my right foot tends to "roll inward" so to speak, when I walk. I also hold my right arm close to my body a lot and I cant use it for much.

I was also having terrible pain in my right foot after long periods of walking or standing for even 5 minutes. I told him of this and he said it is because of the CP. He said a lot of the pain i feel in my right side and my lower back is associated with the CP. I have been thinking that for a LONG time but no dr has ever lisetned to me.

He felt my trigger points and said every one of them are spasming right now and its no wonder ive been on the couch for 2 weeks.

He gave me Flexoril 10 mg 3x daily, Ambien 10 mg at bed, and Vicodin 5/500 for the bad days to start off with. I still will take the ultram as well 100 mgs 3x daily as needed.

He said the flexoril should have been given to me a LONG time ago because of my CP, and that if i had told me about that pain before he would have given it to me.

So it was a good visit as far as i am concerned. I am just glad someone sees the connection between my CP and the pain. I guess I just put the CP in the back of my mind since i have lived with it since birth.

I also bought a bed buddy today. That thing is amazing! I had one before but it got stolen from my desk at work. So I used the bed buddy and took a flexoril when i got home, and I slept for 2 hours. Took another one 5 hrs later and slept for an hour more. The ultram actually helps now. I guess the flexoril helps the pain from the CP enough that the ultram has a chance to work with the fibro pain.

So thats that. Just wanted to update you all and say thanks for keeping me company! Love and pain free vibes to you all!

{{{{{SOFT HUGS}}}}}

Amanda

PS: I forgot to add that he said that i definately should use a scooter or wheelchair on days when i will be walking/standing for long periods ( like a festival, concert etc...)to prevent the pain in my foot and right side.

Yes, I also want to know more about the bed buddy! I've been married to my bed buddy for 25 years. Boy, that makes me sound old!

My bed buddy (aka my hubby) is awesome as well. He supports me, and I only have to work part time. He rubs my back, and lisetns to EVERYTHING i say!!!

Here's a pic for you...

Its filled with rice, and you heat it in the microwave for 1.5-2 minutes. I got mine at walmart for a little less than $10.

It lasts A LOT longer than the gel filled hot packs i have used.

and here is my HUMAN bed buddy, Charles. LMAO!

He can be rented by the hour! I accept Credit cards and cash! NO CHECKS LMAO!

Oh, and i forgot, Suzee, I too partied too hard this weekend. Saturday night, my best friend had a baun fire at her house. I had about 20 shots of whiskey, and an undetermined amount of the good stuff...lol

I was suposed to go to an all day concert sunday, however, i woke up with terrible pain in my feet, legs, and arms at 4 am. I was ready to go at 8am, and when we called my friend to let her know we were on our way, she said she wasnt going to be ready for at least 2 hrs because she had to get a shower along with the other 2 girls that were going. So we decided to go to hubbys family reunion instead. We rented paddle boats and had a good time visiting with his family. I was so tired though! I came home around 5 and crashed on the couch.

Oh well, it was worth it. Theres nothing like sitting around a fire in the country, singing along with someone strumming the guitar. My wonderful hubby drove me. I owe him one for sure!

Just thought I would share!

Amanda
