Ok I have had to go to urgent care 4 times in two weeks. I am sooooo worried that they are going to think I am a drug seeker! The doctor tonight told me tonight that he was going to put a note in my records saying that I cant get any more pain meds for Fibro from urgent care. I said fine I just have to get out of this flare or I am going to go nuts! Then he asked me if the reason I am leaving my doctor that I have now is because he wouldnt write pain meds for me...I said yes and no...he and I have never gotten along but when he tells me that I dont need meds I need a shrink then I think its time to find another doctor!

I am so scared that because I got scripts from the same place but were writen by different doctors (its urgent care!) that the pharmacy and the doctors office will think I am a druggie!! Help!! please tell me what you guys think...Am I screwed?? I didnt have anything else to do! I had to get out of pain!

I feel for you but do be careful with urgent care. You have a good reason to leave your doctor though! What are we supposed to do live in pain? Sometimes it takes awhile to find a doctor who understands. Mine told me today that he wont give me anything stronger then Vicodin 500mg and that maybe its time for me to go to a pain clinic. Have you tried that? I am seriously thinking about it. I know the pain isnt going to go away but something needs to make it tolerable. ~~gentle hugs~~

Did you pay cash for the meds, or do you have insurance?

I have been given pain meds by two different docs just days apart and they have filled it with no questions. and that is all kept on record by my insurance.

years ago I had a nurse pull me aside. He said that I had been to the emergency so many times in a month, that I would have been considered a drug seeker. But most of what they were giving me was antibiotic's.

I dont know if any of this will be of any help to you. Just letting you know that your are not the only person who has gone threw what you are right now.

I cant imagine that they could. They would be in more trouble than you. You NEED it for pain not for a fix! Its so scary to ask for anything because I always end up feeling like a drug seeker too. Hopefully someday there will be some sort of test where the doctors can see our pain like a broken bone so they know we are not lying to them.

No one will report you. They all see your chart and know what is being given so I wouldnt worry about it.

First of all....I'm SO sorry that you've been in so much pain!

As far as getting future pain meds. Well, I'm not sure. I have heard of people getting "red flagged" by their doctors and/or pharmacist. Therefore, it's noted across the board that you "might" be seeking drugs.

For awhile- I was having to go to my rheumy every couple of weeks and they were changing my meds. I'm sure they probably thought I was a drug seeker. And one time, I went in with all my bottles of pills and said, "What do I do with all these that I've not taken and aren't working?" They told me to flush them. I was hoping that they would document that I was there with them all and asked that question. But, it never came up in my medical notes. So who knows what they think of me.

Definitely change doctors. Make sure that you "explain" to whomever you end up with about what has happened. You certainly wouldn't have gone to 'Urgent Care' if you didn't feel you needed to. And most understanding doctors know that.

Hang in there! And gentle hugs to you for some better days.

Thank you guys so much for your support. It means the world to me. I am so scared that I will be "red flagged". Will that mean I wont be able to get scripts filled anymore?
