I had my dose of lyrica increased three weeks ago. I have been on it for several months. Over the weekend I developed severe pain in my legs and my lower joints. My hips hurt so bad I couldnt lay on them. Then Sunday my legs swelled and I got real puffy. I also have a rash under my lip that starts out like blisters and then gets like a patchy rash. It may be shingles. I feel really tired but do not have a fever. I tooe lasix and the swelling improved but the pain never went away. My friend who is a NP is stopping by today to check me over. What do you guys think, Lyrica allergy????I sur hope not--It is the only think that haa helped me. I take 500mg a day.

Call your doctor. Those are side effects of Lyrica! You are on a pretty high dose. I couldn't even tolerate a low dose of 10 mg. Please Sandi, call the doc. Hope you feel better soon.

I think there are way to amny problems with Lyrica. People seem to do good with it for a while and then one day they have some kind of reaction to it. I was on 150mg and was so dizzy I had to sleep sitting up. I already have chronic dizziness but I have taken many medications thet have a dizziness side effect so I wasn't really worried about that with the Lyrica as none of the meds I have taken before made it worse. Lyrica had me spinning so much I thought I would have to go to the hospital. I called my doctor and told her and she told me to stop taking it that I probably won't be able to take Lyrica.

I really hope that the Lyrica is not causing this because you said it helps you.

Sandi, I had the same trouble with my hips, knees and elbows. I had gone form 50mgs to 300mgs a day. I couldn't even get out of bed on the morning. I had to take my pain meds and let them work first. I stopped taking lyrica (slowly reducing the dose) and feel much better. It took about a month for things to get better. It still isn't as good as it was before but I will take what I can get. I go see my Dr. on the 15th and have to talk to her to see what we can do about the lyrica.

I hope that you get this figured out soon. Is the pain a burning pain? Does it get better after being up for awhile?

Take care! Your Friend, Chris

The pain gets better after I am up for a while, but it still hurts. When I go to get up from a chair or from bed in the morning the pain is incredible. I actually cried in front of my husband the other day. And at night my legs burn from my hips doen. I cannot lay on my hips. The inside of my elbow hurt and my forearms. I feel off. Like something is wrong with my body and I don't know what it is. My tongue burns too. And I feel like I can't get enough air. Like when I am in the car I have to have the air on because I can't have the window down becauxe of my trigeminal neuralgia. I cannot lay on my right side of my head because of the occipital neuralgia and it hurts to bad. I cannot brush my hair on that side. I feel like I could throw up. something is just wrong. I think I'll try to go to the doctor's tomorrow.
