I was put on Tramadol, but they are useless so I stopped taking them I'm on nothing at the moment and I'm really feeling it. I went for a pain management program assessment the other day and I won't get on the program until august/september so I understand the meltdown feeling. I have to say though in a way I'm lucky, I can take stuff, my uncle has fibro. but he is allergic to all medication and he is a lot worse than me; I don't know how he does it.

Wasn't there something on the news this morning about vitamins. They reiterated the fact that vitamins can be very dangerous when taken in conjunction with other medications or taken in doses that are above the recommended daily requirements. The said again "Check with your docctor" before adding any vitamins to you daily regiment.

Ted,

I sure don't want to get in the middle of a fight here. it is silly to fight amoungst ourselves we are all just trying to get better so hereis my 2 cents Please no harm is meant to anyone here, AND MAYBE I can help

You are so right Vit D WORKS !!!! or at least it is a big part of what is working for me now

I have been been ill for years with several very painful conditions(lupus/ fibro, kidney stones,Hydradentis ect, ect) and the doctors just kept giving me more and more meds. I kept getting worse and worse....... In fact I decided last week to stop all my meds except my predisone ( can't just stop that suddenly or I would have adreinal problems)

The reason I decide to stop my meds was one day last week my skin started feeling like it was on fire even my eyes and bottom of my feet.

It was not red but hurt to bad to even lay on my sheets,I called the dr. they said none of the meds should give me that reaction.

Hmmm I had to go with my gut feeling I felt TOXIC to many meds TO many years they really were not helping me........AND now I am getting better

I have been taking the Vit D and several other vitamins and supplments including the apple cider and baking soada I have mentioned here before for several months now and I am starting to feel better, less pain, less depression more energy

Doctor's often have differing opinions on things and many times are WRONG, DEAD WRONG there are about 8 times in my imeditate family that Doctors did not do there jobs well and I had to PUSH and demand them to do what needed doing

I am not saying that Doctors are not smart and sometimes they even seem care, and sometimes we need the pain meds or the anibotics but long term use, I now belive can make you worse......... it sure did for me.

But we live in our bodies and we pay the price or reap the rewards of finding out what works for us, not just taking the precribtions and advise blindly.

it is good to share with each other what has worked for us, maybe it can help someone eles in the same boat

Bella

I agree, vitamin D levels should be checked with a blood test. Talk to your dr about having your levels checked and go from there. This is an open forum and everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion but to be on the safe side discuss things with your dr.

I am locking this discussion at this point due to length and due to the debate that is going on. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and is entitled to discuss different options but this posts seems to be causing a debate instead of a discussion and I feel that feelings could be hurt.

Live one day a time, Never give up the fight!!
