MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

I have chronic cystitis so I always have blood in my urine. Now as for the stool, did they do a hemoccult test when you were there? If not I would ask them to.

I just found this on the Web MD site for Cymbalta....I have been using Ibuprofin for mild pain...well now I am bleeding...Lyrica also has some indications with Ibuprofin...so beware....it is bad when you have to DX yourself...Thanks

"Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: drugs removed from your body by certain liver enzymes (e.g., cimetidine, antipsychotics such as perphenazine, antiarrhythmics such as propafenone/flecainide/quinidine, certain quinolone antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin, antidepressants such as desipramine/fluoxetine/imipramine/paroxetine), drugs to treat high blood pressure (e.g., clonidine, guanethidine), "water pills" (diuretics such as furosemide), drugs that can cause bleeding/bruising (e.g., aspirin, antiplatelet drugs such as clopidogrel, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, "blood thinners" such as heparin/warfarin)." From Web MD for Cymbalta.

I don't take the cymbalta it made me extremely sick to my stomach vomiting repeatly so I stopped taking it but I do take lyrica, opana, wellbutrin, baclofen, elmiron, estradol, ritalin and I also have intercystial cystitis so I have microscopic blood everytime I go to the dr they always ask me if I am on my period funny thing is I had a hysterectomy almost 2 years ago you would think they would remember that but anyway I have had a few occassions (yesterday) that I have gone to the bathroon and wiped and they be bright red blood I called my dr. and they said that it was nothing to worry about that I might just have a tare or something but it is strange that others are seeing this to. I wouls still check with the dr.

A gastrologist would be worth seeing. Anytime blood shows up in urine or stools it needs immediate attention. A colonscopy done by a gastrologist may explain where the blood is coming from in the colon and small intestines. As far as the blood in urine a urologist could help to find out why. After having a pap smear 11 years ago (I was 39) doc found blood in stools from a test they run while you are there. I had never seen any blood. He made me an appointment with gastrologist who decided to do a colonscopy. This doc found 3 polyps and one was precancer...that was the one bleeding. I was very lucky to have found it. They cut them out and I had to return every year for a colonscopy which showed the polyps were growing back. He removed them each time. This went on till I turned 49 at which time the polyps had not grown back. So I got to wait for 3 year colonscopy which is this year. Of course, I do see my gastrologist every year for check up. Colon cancer is a very slow growing cancer and I thank God my problem was found early. It is recommended to get a colonscopy at age 50 and if it is fine (as my husbands was) then again in 10 years. If I had waited until I was 50 I would have colon cancer. Thank God for pap smears. Good luck on finding the cause.

I started taking cymbalta and my doctor told me to take 4 ibuprofen at a time for my pain. Since I'm not ready or she is not ready to give me any thing stronger. This is good to know, I have a appt with her tomorrow. I don't have blood in my stool or urine but, will ask her about. Thanks for you information.

Medications can cause a lot of strange symptoms. If you stop the ibuprofen and the bleeding stops, mystery solved. If it doesn't insist that your doctor investigate to see what's causing it.
