I struggle every day to be positive for my health. Some days it is really hard to put my pain and fatigue aside and concentrate on how really LUCKY I am to live in a world that offers support and love and sunshine and happiness and friendship. I read some of the stories that are written and my heart just tears in pain. I know, I know. Some days I spend literally praying for all of you to find the strength to make yourselves move and give to others in need. To find happiness in petting the dog or cat in your house to thanking the person you are closest to for their presence. Sometimes finding things to be happy about is my biggest accomplishment of the day, but it is an accomplishment I am always proud of.

I had allot of trouble being positive until I found this group. So many of you have inspired me to keep going, you all have no idea what state of mind I was in when I found this group (actually you all probably do). I just want to thank you all for being here and answering my questions even when they are stupid lol.

When I came across this group being positive was the last thing on my mind. I could never see past my pain, and then I found you all! I was so releived to learn that fibromyalgia wasn't something doctors told you because they think your crazy and don't know what else to tell you lol!

I agree that it is hard to be positive sometimes. It is so wonderful having all of you to talk to because, with so many of us, those who are really having a bad day can let out their feelings - while those having a better day are able to inspire them to keep going! So many kind, thoughtful, helpful and loving words are shared here. I love that we are able to keep pulling each other up. I think staying positive as much as possible is very important.

Ya know, I have noticed so many things around me that I never slowed down enough before to see - to really see. Was that sunset really so beautiful a few years ago? Probably, but I never sat and watched it for 30 minutes at a time - noticing every change in color as it slowly disappeared.

I now take the time to just sit with my kids and talk as they lay in bed and are drifting off to sleep. Before FM I was always in too big a hurry to get ready for the next day. When talking to my son one night, he said "You are the best mom in the universe, I could just eat you up!" I don't remember him ever saying that before I was forced to stop working and slow down. He now says that every night as his bedtime ritual.

Crazy, but sometimes I think this FM has been a blessing to me in many ways. I would have never slowed down and noticed life had I not been forced to. I don't know why this thing is attacking my body, but I have to believe there is a greater good on this path. My pain may be intense, but I now also feel joy with the same intenseness!

Hey you guys, I loved reading what you all wrote! It helped me today to know that I got you thinking about some of the positives.........the natural beauty around us, the people in our lives, our pets and oh my gosh, those kids some of us have.... This is why I have to start every day like this. It is also something that helps me when the flares are firing! It's a nice way to end the day too.......... Thinking Positive helps you stay focused on what is important in your life. FMS will NEVER take over my life. I am too busy enjoying it!

Good Afternoon all of my Fibro friends!

You know I just wanted to let everyone know how much happier that I feel each day that I get up even here on my terrible days. I can be acting like a witch to everyone around here because I hurt so bad but then I sigh on and come read what you all have wrote or get involved with a discussion and next thing you know I am smiling and laughing and having a blast. Starting to act like my old self before it got to bad. I am so glad that I came to this site and if I can help just one of you make it through a bad day whether it be with FM or personal then I have done something good in my life.

Thank you all for being my Fibro family and friends!!!

Rita
