MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Dear momnordy,

I want to share something with you that I just shared with a dear friend.

I had a dream last night that I was "back to my old self". It was just 2 years ago that I was 70 pounds lighter, very active, and pain free. I woke up this morning ... back to reality.

I had two choices. Lay in bed and feel down about where I am now OR get up, smile for a second knowing I DID have a moment of pain free bliss (even if it was in a dream).

Well, I am writing to you now so I must have chose the latter ... this time. It has been a rough week for me too but, ya know, I am not as down as I usually get because everyone here lifts me up and keeps me going.

I guess what I am saying is NEVER hesitate to come here and ask for help. We may not be able to help with valances but we can try to make the pain hurt just a little less.

Have a wonderful day,

Amy

I know I have said this before but it is really easy for us to focus on what we can't do. I do it all the time. If we stay in that mode day to day it will cause extreme depression. I liked someones idea about making a list of what you would like to do over a week and crossing off things as you are up to it. This way you still feel productive. Who cares if it takes a week instead of a day. Work at your own pace.

I am so glad to see that you are feeling so much better.

The list works in 2 way for me. It shows me what I have accomplished and showed my hubby what I have accomplished

Yeah......the Godness of Slowness. See, we all have something in common. We are all goddesses!

It seems like todays theme is "blob". Remember those horror flicks The Blob? Boy all that icky stuff sliding through town and destroying everything in its path. So.....does that mean we get to destroy things in our path? Like being blobs. I hate being a blob. But some days thats about all we have the energy for. My heart ache for those of you brave enough to put your pictures in. I see such pretty smiling faces, but I know the pain behind the smiles and then feeling like a blob. What a shame. I'm so sorry for you young ones robbed of your youth. I know it must be hard to wake up each morning and not see the pretty faces the rest of us see on your sites....but all you see is a blob. Maybe we should have a celebrate blob day. Dress it up, make it look pretty, put a smile on its face, but underneath it all it would still be just a blob.

WELL LISTEN HERE YOU BLOBS (ME TOO).....we are wonderful creatures. We are not blobs. We have beating hearts, hands to touch others with, minds to share knowledge with others, smiles to donate to others. Give them one of yours. Have you ever seen a blob smile. Have you ever seen a blob touch someone with loving caring hands. Have you ever seen a blob type on a computer to send out encouraging words to people they have never met, never seen, and share words that might be just the ones that will allow someone to lift up their heads in pride again, in joy again? I haven't. So.....my surmise would be that not one of us is a blob!!!!!! Not one single one of us. And I'm talking to me too. I weigh enough for 3 people. You want to talk about depression! And I have a bad few weeks coming as many of you have. But we must never forget that we are created beings with a brain, heart, lungs, etc. As long as we have breath we can be some good to others and some good to us. Let's destroy the blob. I don't remember how they did it in the movie, but maybe we can have a "blob destruction" day. But remember......WE ARE NOT BLOBS!!!!! No matter what your faith is or isnt, I serve a higher power that made ME and YOU and he will destroy the blob!! Lets each of us today sit down and make a list of 5 things that are good about us. Some of us will have to think for a long time....but if you are in a depressed mood, set the list aside and come back to it later.

Now...that probably didn't make a bit of sense to anyone but I know what I'm trying to say and I hope you can figure it out through all of the typos.

Let each of us find something to find joy in today. Look everywhere. In the closet, under the bed, whereever, but everyone find one item that brings you joy today and hang on to that with all your power. And lets grow together, and strenghten together, and become a mighty group of women (and men) that stand together with an invisible illness and take the world and life on one little minute at a time.

Sorry to ramble, hope I didn't confuse everyone, but I truly send out to each and everyone of you a powerful, strong uplifting soft hug. With all sincerety. Hugs to all. Strength to all, and somewhere, somehow JOY. Kathy

((((HUGS))) Kathy

we all need "splashes" of JOY in the cesspools of life
3:16...........real joy
